i know it dont involve an rx but oh well. ok heres the deal. im driving my fairly new 97 dodge avenger es, its got a 2.5 ltr, 24 valve, v-6. it pretty much stock, but i did buy a rapid preformance computer chip.( dont get one, it said 50hp gain but its really not, better gas milage tho). i also put some octane booster in it and filled up with premium, (5 MAYBE 10hp increase ) well this happened about 3 weeks ago. i was driving up i-81 from tn back to dc. as im at about exit 160 or so i see a black, lowered, rimmed, and loud civic si come FLYING around the entrance ramp on to the highway. im goin 70 (5 over), well he jumps both lanes cutting people off to get infront of me. my car is bone stock on the outside anyway so why he wanted to race i dont know. he clicked his hazards on and off a few times signaling to race. i did the same, we slowly zigzaged around cars to get to the front of the pack. once we were there, he was on my right putting three fingers up. i nodded, then his horn went off, 1, 2, 3. i put my foot down, putting it into 3rd and clicked over drive off. he down shifted, small puff of smoke. i started to creep up closer and closer to his driver door, he got me from the 65mph launch till about 75. hit 85 and im already a hood lengh infront. then he shifts(to 5th i guess, not sure) i click over drive on to lower mind rpm and help me out a little more. a car starts commin up in my last pretty fast (almost 100 does that). ive bairly make it infront of the civic so i cut over into his lane. the i see a big rig coming in my lane, with cars on my left wizzing by, about 10 feet behind the big rig a mini van sees us on my left. cut him off nearly taking my back and his front bumber off. well the civic is right behind me, so van speeds up a little so he cant get infront of him too. well instead of admiting his loss, he jumps on the right hand shoulder passing the big rig, riding on the bumps, you know, the ones to wake people up if they fall asleep. by the time he got infront of the rig, i was about 6 of 7 cars infront. so i slowed down back to 70, hoping to get to see my victim fly by all angry. he got next to me, no cars in the immediate front or rear, and we bull **** for a few. he asks year and model and what iv got done to it, i say "97 dodge avenger v6. and, nothing, its stock. what about you?" he says "98 civic si with k&n intake kit" some type of exahaust but i dont remember. so we said our good byes and what not, then he tried to speed off. i once again hit the gas tryin to do the same. we start up again, he had a little lead on me but yet my stong v6 picked up and got out again. we get a long empty straitaway and i hit 135(alltime high in my new car) im in the front again as we come flying around a turn. before i really realize it, im almost passing a va state trooper in the median. i hit the brakes and the civic does the same. we cruise past the cop at about 90(still a little high, but people on 81 drive fast anyway) i start to see him pulling foward and im thinking F&**,F&^%,im screwed, im boned" i contomplate flooring it and hitting the first exit i see, but i dont. i slow to 65 exactly just in time to see a car pulled over on the opposite side and 5 cop cars with guns drawn, pointing at the car. then two more comming their way,then the state that alomst had us, fly by my right and hit the exit to turn around. the civic got nest to me and we were laughing our asses off. he was like, "ok you got me, im not doing that anymore. dont wanna get this impound and lose my license for good." i said "yea me too, over double the speed limit and me having a restricted license, i would have been raped on that one." he laughed and so we parted ways, he got off a few exits down. man talk about a heart racer. damn that takes a lot longer to type then to say. any way, enjoy
