You need to define what fast is in order to get and answer
However compare them in there respective classes (price and year of production)
and you will find that they dominated the competition.
Also due to some favourable characteristics (light weight, well balanced, able to cope with more power) these cars are great to modify into whatever your version of fast is

haha your funny leland, the only reason your car is in the top time of the day is because you made up your own class!
and no, you don't beat zo6's, b/c they aren't in your class. besides yours is a turbo, so stay out of it lol
I race miata's and they send my '90 n/a running home with its tail between it's legs...it's sad really.
I guess the best answer to this guys question is my favorite saying "1.3 liters of fuel injected FURY!!"
...but in the car's defense, I DO love driving my 7. it's fun and somewhat unique (esp. for a chick to be driving a 7)

fast?
rotarys are hitting high 6's in the quarter now. and still developing new techniques and getting faster. and many are in the low sevens. but those are tube chassis cars.
but there are rx7s in the 8's non tube chassis. Kilo from right here in orlando hit high 9's all motor a few years ago with a stock chassis. still with factory carpet and dash. all steel and only the doors had lexan instead of glass. and that was under old stupid rules.
**** yeah there fast! lol...
but for stock, super slow in a strait line...
