Supra pump change AFRs?
Hi All,
Yesterday I dropped a supra pump into my FD. I didn't have an issue that I was expecting to solve I simply found a good deal and new that I would like to do one eventually.
So, here's the question. Should I see a change in AFRs?
Many of the threads I have read point to across the board changes in AFRs. What I have seen is no change. I'm just curious. Not seeing a change does make sense. As long as the stock regulator isn't overwhelmed I would think that it would hold the pressure the same as before.
I'm running a stock engine (no porting), 93 sequential twins, DP, cat back and intake ... all at 10PSI. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge but I don't think that my 550/850s are being driven so hard (80% duty) that the pressure was dropping off in the first place.
Just curious if what I am seeing is normal.
James
P.S. I'm running a PFC, datalogit and PLX wideband to tune ...

The Supra pump is good to the deep 600's ( at least my last one was. Check the FPR , or better yet upgrade to an aeromotive . that pump moves alot of fuel and could possibly increasing your pressures enough to throw off the AFR's towards the rich side somewhat, but nothing massive on the stock FPR.
doesn't surprise me then. You have the fuel pump resistor and stock wires. You shouldn't need to change any of that out unless you add more power mods. If you did rewire right now it would likely require adjustments in the PFC.
If you say went with a single turbo then the stock pump wiring would likely be a limitation.

I told him that I installed a 044 inline, he just said it was overkill for anything below 600hp.

different thread ... went the same direction as this one
Funny, I started another thread with a different purpose in mind but it has largely gone in the same direction as this one.
Especially interesting is post #13. The linked to web site has some good info in terms of fuel pump flow vs current draw and appropriately what HP can be supported.
