does anyone knows what kind of led's to use ? and for the backlite screen ?
were could i find that ? i don't like the green light

 

You'll just have to experiment. Apex'i offers a new commander with an OLED screen but it's not cheap.

 

Some other have done similar changes, and posted on this forum about it.
Since it is a RARE modification, you will have to search hard.

 

I'd just spend the money on the newer Commander. It does cost a lot of money, but it's actually useable and readable in all kinds of conditions unlike the older style Commander.

 

i was able to buy a commander cheap so just planning to change the led's
i'll just have to search longer then

 

just changed the little led's with red ones.
for those who want tot know the type of led's they are 0805
but still searching for the red screen baclight

could not find a replacement backlight in different color but green ...
i tried to make something myself.
now i have modified 5mm 12000mcd led's to fit. 3mm would have been better to use but didn't had them

it definitely looks different. How is visibility in bright sunlight?

 

it can't be the same , the green backlight has 10 mini leds on the left and 10 on the right
for me it looks the same as with the green backlight when i have more time i try to make custom plexi with smd led's but will not be easy
