New version of PowerFC FAQ
Hey everyone -
I finally finished my long-awaited update of the PFC FAQ. This should answer 90% of the newbie questions about the PFC
.
The installation section has been expanded, info on using it in an FC has been added, and tons more stuff I've forgotten I've put in there
.
Here it is -

Please let me know if you have anything that should be changed, added, deleted, what have you.
Thanks,
Dale

The way to get the AC ECU bypass to turn off the AC when on power, is to insert a Hobbs pressure switch into the AC control circuit. I have mine set at 4psi to turn the AC off.

Good point - I'll see if I can't add that in there. The AC discussion needs some more work.
BTW, what model car do you have - base, touring, R? Seems like there was some correlation between package and whether the AC would work. My '94 R2 has been working like a champ - all speeds, no problems, for at least 20,000 miles (with SERIOUS daily AC use
).

Dale,
My FD was one of the most troublesome year/versions ever made: March 1992 R1.
Best bang for the buck was my 1967 Alfa Romeo GT1300JR, and my wife's
MX-3 GS with the V6 engine which we no longer own.

That's good stuff - I've never seen that before! I'll have to put a link to it in my FAQ, as that covers a lot of stuff for other cars besides the FD.
Thanks,
Dale

Nope, you need a commander. The PFC can't do squat without the commander or datalogit.
Read the FAQ - make sure you get the right commander for your PowerFC.

well actualy i just ordered the datalogit, so will i be able get get the stock map with that then, until i get her tuned? thanx, the FAQ has some great info!!!
Me three! thanks dale.
I read your FAQ and want to share some feedback about my experience... I was looking for a "selflearn" screen... or maybe a function to begin after I engaged the clutch... something to lmk that the unit was in fact "learning"... not seeing anything made me apprehensive.... maybe a blurb about the first run and what to expect after installation and the best course of action for newbies... get it tuned, run it as it is, get a B/C... whatever you think is best.
I just installed yesterday then switched back cause I dont wanna blow the thing up in my ignorance!
=]
BTW whats a "bump?"

Right now, I'm trying to find the perfect ECU for me and I've got a couple questions that I didn't see covered in the FAQ...
Is it true that the PFC is untunable above 8,000RPMs?
Is it true that the PFC has problems supplying feul above 15PSI?
Can a PFC support a 6 injector setup?
