Why not have the baffle bolted in? Seems like it would making cleaning the pan upon removal if they were not welded in?

We were going to have them attached to the bolt-in windage tray, but that looked like sh*t. Welding into the bottom is a much better way to go, anyway, and they will not cause any problem as far as cleaning the pan.

Blake,

Ernst with RX-7 World just emailed you about the FD pans, can you do a group buy on those as well, and when do you think they will be ready?

thanks,

Mark

$375 for 10 or $350 for 20 is what Blake quoted us

I'm hoping this isn't going to turn into a 6 week "wait and see" deal....I can't wait that long

I talked to Rich at Xcessive Motorsports (the guy who actually makes the FD pans, also sold by Pineapple and Ground Zero)....he says he plans to produce a new batch of FD pans in a couple of weeks and can offer 10% off for a group buy of 10 or more

just a note though, the pan raises the engine about 5/16", so if your clearance is already tight you might want to think about that

also, the bottom of the pan sits about even with the cross-member, perhaps a hair lower....if you have a lowered car and roll over a speed bump or something like that it may be possible to crack the pan, and cast aluminum is very brittle

I decided to just go with the stock pan and Gotham oil pan brace after talking with him about it

Well, the FC pans are done. We decided to weld-in baffling and powdercoat the outside of the pans black, then sand down the ribs on the bottom for a little contrast. Anyway, I'm still uncertain about the status of running this as a Group Buy, so let's just call it an "introductory offer" for now.

You can order the pans through our online shopping cart. No waiting. No deposits. We take Paypal and major Credit Cards.

The direct link is >HERE<

Just to be clear. Xcessive and GroundZero are basically the same thing. Also, we helped design the FD pan which they manufacture. Both businesses retail them. It's a cooperative venture. The FC pans are both designed and manufactured by us (Pineapple Racing), through our own vendors. We are the only retailer of the FC pans.

Ralph, the owner of Xcessive and GZ, was over here yesterday and said they are finally getting another batch of pans completed. He gave me the last pan of the old batch and said he has the first two of the new batch reserved for me. All the FD pans will now be powdercated black, as well. Please do not expect us to compete against each other on pricing of the FD Pans. I'll talk to Ralph and we'll settle who will offer the Group Buy, if there is enough interest.

The introductory price will only last for the first 20 pans, which will recover our costs. After that, we will go back to the "normal" price of $350 and not worry so much about moving them quickly. Please note that $350 is still an extremely fair price, considering the FD pan retails for $425.

Since there may be some people who need time to get the money together, I have added a deposit option so you can still lock in the introductory price. You pay a non-refundable $99 deposit and the balance of $200 in 30 days. If you fail to pay the balance in time, you will still have 90 days (60 additional days) to use the deposit as a credit against any other purchase from our store, before forfeiting the money. No refunds and no transferring the deposit to others. Use it or lose it.

To pay the deposit, go to our online store >HERE< and look in the "specials" section. This way you can lock in the introductory price without paying the full amount up front. Obviously, the item does not ship until the balance it paid in full.

Vipers: yours is going out in the mail today. Thanks for the order.

We've sold a few. I will be PMing those who expressed interest earlier, but if orders don't pick up soon I will end the introductory special early so those orders we do get are worth our time. So, if you want one at the introductory price, you better get off your *** quick. With all the time involved, I'm thinking $350 is probably too low, let alone $299. We sell the FD pans for $425.

Also recieved mine today. Great job! The pan is truely a work of art, and will be on the coffee table for a while. I will also be "touring" it around Houston, especially to the RX Club meets. It is one fine piece of work.

Thanks again Blake.
Dom.
