Just another 2jz FD Thread...
FYI You don't have to be a true racer to understand the science behind having the ideal weight distribution. Saving weight is only a fraction of what it takes to make a car a true handler. Regardless of what engine was put in, if more weight is in front of the front tire center line and higher in the engine bay, then the polar moment and center of gravity is negatively effected. This makes your steering less responsive. You can still have the perfect 50/50 but the position of that weight is also very important. Point being your vehicle wont change direction as quikly as before. So it does effect handling. Either way nice project.
Really? I was told by them that the scoot hood wouldnt work with the 2jz? I honestly would rather use the scoot hood if possible.......i know its possible if you lower the steer rack but your meaning with their products??

ok the scoot hood will fit with slight mod sorry left that out . if you look carefully at this pic you can see its a 2jzgte vvti under that scoot hood ,drew had too trim the finns on the upper vent
Sorry to say man, Drew uses the 1jz vvti in his FD.....im doing the 2jz vvti notice the differances in the engine as well with clearance....The 2jz has to have the Tech2 APR performance hood.

I love seeing builds like this...I been saving parts since "roachdiddy" did his while ago...big power and reliable. Can't ask for more...and it's keeping a import engine in a import...not turning it into a corvette...just MO

Hey, I can't blame you for that! My brother picked up a nice Black TT recently, and it made me lose a little interest in my build after seeing the Supra. At least your parts are going to a worthy cause, haha.
Just wondering what state you live in and how did you figure out how to do this kind of work? Wish I could do this.
