Are you getting the wire harness done by Tech2? I am might be ordering my swap kit next month. I am going with the 1jz engine though.

Just a little update!

I now have 100% of the parts

intake manifold + t-body is on. Wiring harness is fully on. FMIC and radiator + fan wiring is done. Tuesday my car gets the IC piping fabbed up as well as an alignment!

Then I tackle the dash!

Then she runs

Tune is on june 1st!

Lets hope so, wiring is finished, just need to do my gauges and whatnot n the wiring end. Dash is in, waiting for 2 more fuel line fittings and then the entire fuel system will be done. Just need the IC piping fabbed up!

Hood bulge

Hi LeeC,

Been checking up on your thread for a while now. Nice build. I received your PM inquiring about my hood. Since you're not the only person asking, I responded in my thread instead:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...13#post9295513

Hope that helps!

I believe you're referring to me.

If you set the engine back far enough into the firewall, the hood will clear the engine, but not the stock intake manifold. See the link above for more clarification.

In other words, the formula to have a 1JZ / 2JZ engine in your FD RX-7 without lowering the steering rack while retaining the factory hood, is to push the engine into the firewall, and have a custom intake manifold.

you can get the carbon fiber hood from tech2. Its a bit pricey. Or get the a Scoot hood, also pricey. Cheapest way is to modify the stock one.

On another note I just got my kit in . Just missing the driveshaft and power subframe supposedly in back order . I will start my build soon.

Did you run into any problems with the k member? Mine was a tight fit. I had to enlarge the two guide holes. Also the lower control arms were a pain in the *** to install.
