This is how it could look when I'm measure an 20B-shaft

Have only rough-turned the both sides to 46mm, will drill the oil-chanel and so on before I do the fine-cut.

Very nice cnc work! I run mastercam too but not at your level!

Did you make a dummy shaft out of some cheap aluminium or mild steel to test the programs first? Or just go straight to the expensive stuff?!?!

Aluminium are more expensive than SAE4340 over here. But a dummy-shaft was never an option. Too much time spent on doing a shaft I couldn't use. Better to do the real thing right away, but more carefully.

Thanks!

Have started on the two loose ends. And as I did with the main-shaft, I spared a few bucks taking a smaller material, but then I have to turn the centre from an excenter from start. But why not All you can save in money you can have more fun fore

quick question, do those lathes ever get stuck? I have a small lathe and while its doing its thing sometimes it stops and makes a loud screetching noise. lol

Do you mean that the spindle stops when the tool is in the material?
Sounds like bad tranmission-cables!
