Have you considered the possibility that a '73 Volvo 142 is kinda...ya know...unworthy of all this work?

You're building a hand-crafted beast; why not something more sporty? :-)

 

it's just a skin of a car at this point, could be anything over the wheels now and be the same car.

 

I think the volvo are perfect
The chassi are all new. And I also consider to make an inviduall rear axle with maybe a BMW-diff or something like that. More track, and less dragrace

I used to work in a Tool and die shop when I was 18 years old I was an apprentice learning the cnc,lathe and all the great toys I see all the great shops to build stuff like this, I wish I could of stayed in that prefession but Like all kids I didnt see me doing that for a living , I didnt know I could build this kinda stuff, I wish I would of stayed I could of made lots of money and learn and build stuff like this., Killer talent , Much respect bro cant wait to see the car done.

Being a machinist myself i love the work youve done. You deffinatley know what your doing. Ive also made a 4 rotor s4 blocks n/a carbd pp. and wish i had documented it like you have, Its so informative. Keep up the good work.

Built me an lightweight-engine today that is alot easier to get in and out of the car when i want to do some measurements

 

Your lightweight engine will be a huge time and back saver. Probably won't sound as cool though.....

 

Hey yea ive got some. It was done on the cheap just to see what was involved. Basically 2x 13b s4 n/a motors. pp ports. Carbed. dual tower coils. Put in a s3 rx7. Didnt have to move anything but the radiator and oil cooler. Which if you go electric water pump you shouldnt need to move. Added some photos. Wish i had the cash at the time to make a brand new crank but i was an apprentice so was not on the best cash. But now i get offers of over 20k for it so am thinking of selling and making some more. Sorry bout the photo quality but my dog had chewed my camera. Just wondering why you went to steel for the rotors and not alloy. I saw a couple guys on youtube make alloy rotors and test them on the drag strip and they help up just as well. Always wanted to try that myself. Cheers

Just wondering what was the cost of your ecc shaft if you had to pay for machining. I know we get them in nz slightly differnt to yours for 8500nzd. cheers
