I think new spark plugs, plug wires etc, are in order....along with fixing the tiny pin hole leak of coolant from my modified water housing outlet :/
I will keep at it this weekend and hopefully will get it finished sometime early next week...

Quick Update...It only took a few miles of driving to realize that the amount of air that the OEM RX-8 throttle body allows through for idle is not going to cut it on this motor...So I decided to start work on an "idle control needle" of sorts using a pneumatic flow control valve. In case you are wondering, being as though the RX-8 is drive by wire, there is no idle control motor or bleed valve on the throttle since the OEM ecu decides where to hold idle. This is a problem because where its deciding, it wants to shut down. After all was said and done, it worked flawlessly, just enough air to allow me to adjust idle up to 1k-1.1k rpms if needed. Now I can adjust idle speed with the twist of the little **** on the valve. I ended up leaving it at around 850rpm.
Cheers!

The valve does not open or close with anything. It doesn't need to. All that its to do is bleed air from before the throttle to behind the throttle, enough air for the engine to idle. So basically, you screw it in or out once the engine is close to tune and then you lock it ones it reaches the desired RPM at idle.

Here is a short video with the Idle needle fully out...I later found out that the Throttle body was disconnected and that explained the high idle...It now sits at 850rpm...

Lol... Only reason I did the idle control that way is because the factory drive by wire throttle is not controlled by the microtech and it has no way of adjusting idle besides the oem ecu...there is no idle speed controller on it.

Yes it does but being as though I hooked it up through the RX-8 harness which doesn't have one and the fact that this bypass proved simple enough to make I just went for it. If it gives me any grief (varying idle with temperature etc) I won't hesitate to install an idle speed control motor. At the moment I did not have one to install so I went this route.
Cheers!
