Dont hate im a women RX8 driver and i deff. know more than you give credit i have taken a half a dozen renesis motors apart and they are crap compared to the REW or RE the series 2 got alot better then series 1 but series 1 is what i have and it was a very poor design on mazdas part i felt they couldve done better with the design and shouldve kept the twin turbos !

I bought a 2nd gen and put the REW in there way easier and less money just keeping the 8 for daily driving might port it a bit but other than that im just leaving it alone.

Slight update...car is away for winter and the long list of "leftover" To Do's is now in session.

Before putting it away I added LED's to the bumper, they look really good and do a good job of replacing the OME fog lights I lost in the bumper switch. They look blurry in the pics but in person you can really see the individual "dots" like on the Audi's.

More updates coming soon!

Chris

pretty much the path i chose to follow with my Rx-8 as well, though i won't lie. i have been tempted every so often to put my REW in it. i have resisted with minimal effort, however if it were a 20B that i had included in my cache of rotaries, i would have caved a LONG time ago!

It feels awesome...you have to watch it when you get on the brakes. However, these arent the Z06 brakes, these are custom made 15" 8 piston units. I ended up switching to these when i realized I could make it happen very reasonably. I also upgraded the rear to 13" rotors relocating the stock caliper. It feels really good under braking.

On another note, i will be getting rid of the Z06 front kit so if anypne wants to work on adapting it to their car LMK.

Cheers!

Quick update.

It became clear that my initial "idle bleed valve" for controlling working in conjunction with the OEM throttle wasn't adequate so I decided to adapt the BAC that came with my engine to the RX-8 throttle so that I could use the ECU to control idle properly.

here are some pics of what I did.

Cheers!

Its actually Spray paint...VHT Red Wrinkle Plus. The stuff is easy to work with, resistant to engine temps and to top it off its pretty resilient/durable when it comes to dings and scratches, I would say its about halfway as regular engine spray paint and powder coat in terms of strength. I did it myself and it came out really good.

Hehe...that is what it ended up as. Originally it was where I threaded my manual "idle bypass" connector. Since I am no longer using that, rather than plugging it, now I can check for leaks.
