well while I am waiting for the ECU to come back again....

installed the R32 GT-R seats my friend is building the brackets. LOL I was told the seat where two tone gray color. Well turns out my friend I got the seats from must be color blind or something, cuase these seats are blue.

just sitting there

mounted nice a low and the slide adjuster still works

taking the seat apart to DEEP wash them. LOL 20 years of someone elses butt sitting them they need a few times in the washer.

great project so far. it sucks what happened with your Haltech, but i agree, if it was signed for, then it shouldn't be left in your lap - $1800 is not "forget-about-it"-money!

this is from the tracking data

Your item was delivered at 12:08 pm on December 20, 2010 in LEXINGTON, KY 40505. The item was signed for by S NICHOLS.

S nicholes My guess is someone signed it as santa claus st nicholas and treated themself to a xmas gift. I have insurance on the box but I dont know if they will pay because someone signed for the box.

looks like Haltech picked a great location

WOW that really seems aggravating. I would be really pissed.

I hope google maps is wrong about that being Haltech. I would suggest calling them and telling them the tracking number and have them look it up while you talk to them. Surely they can figure out what's going on. Blows my mind that they sent you the wrong one, then tried to convince you that it simply had the wrong sticker on it, wtf sort of business is that.

well got some good news.

the junk yard called me about a parts car so...............

down at the junk yard

they had it waiting for me. lol I wanted to get a picture of it with other cars stacked on top but I was too late

smashed down roof from when other cars where stacked on it

i was waiting for the fork lift to flip but never did

I put four spare tires on it and then he put it on the back of my friends flat bed tow truck.

by the time we got back to where my shop space is it was already dark. I will go down there after work tomorrow get some more pictures

it is too bad about the roof I would have liked to put this one back on the road. the paint was really clean until they started put cars on top of it. the hood has huge scrape on it like that dragged some other car over it.

but looks like the old owner cut out the fender in the front and back and made it like a wide body. I will take some better pics of that tomorrow and see if i can get it started.

Where is the junkyard rust? That is one CLEAN yard. Some people have dirtier garage floors than that.

made some progress today.

oil return fitting

-10 AN fitting

old water temp sensor

new water temp sensor for use with Haltech ecu

fixing the wastegate pipe

cut off pipe and will extend it back about 3 inches 6- ~ 70 mm so it will clear the rear engine mount.

I have 2 water lines i need to cap. the one on the top of the rear rotor iron and on the water pump housing. trying to find a local place that sells caps. but might just end up using a bolt and hose clamp for temporary.

tomorrow I will install the engine and trans into the car and start wiring up the haltech harness so when the ecu comes I can just plug it in.

if I blocked off the BAC do I need to block off where the air pump hard line mounts to the back lower intake?
I bought the Banzai Racing block off kit. im surprised there is not a block off plate for it too.

Made some more progress today

got the engine off the stand

hmmmmm

man I hate putting the PS and AC bracket back on. Is there an easy way to do it.

got the transmission back in too using the custom made ninja mounts. I keep forgetting to paint them black

test fitting the turbo manifold after cutting the waste gate pipe.

HKS T04R

test fit with compressor housing

lots of room to build the wastegate and down pipe

Leave the BAC on there and use it. Works great for cold starts, helps with the AC, and just generally makes life a lot better. It's not hurting anything, so might as well use it.

Bolt, hose, and clamp works better than the rubber caps to block off the coolant ports. Those caps like to dry rot real fast, split, puke coolant everywhere, and lead to a burned up engine. If you do use the caps, I recommend finding a blot just big enough to fit down in the nipple. Coat it will some silicone and slide it in the nipple. Cover it all with the cap. Another, not as clean option is to use a hose to join the two nipples. The FD hose that runs from the rear iron to the throttle body thermowax is ideally shaped for this purpose.

Yes, I believe on the RE the BAC is under the manifold. Did you mean you blocked off the ACV? The block plate in the middle of the manifold on the turbo side?

lol yeah when I was making my post and looking at the LIM I was thinking FC3S BAC. Yes I will be keeping the Cosmo BAC that is under the TB for idel control.

it never get really cold here in Okinawa so I am not going to use the thermo wax

Did your ECU ever show up? I'd forgotten all about getting a tracking number for you. I did tell them to make sure to send it USPS.

The coils "look" like the FC coils from the pics I've seen. If you can maybe remove them from the body and get a good clean pic of them and the connectors, we can sort through the proper wiring.

Well, it's using an FD style system with an external ignitor. Without the schematic/pinout, it's impossible for me to say what goes where. The Haltech will run it though. Worst case you could swap the Mazda ignitor for a Bosch 3-channel, simply to have something that you know how to connect properly. Do you have access to a service manual with schematics?

I sent an email to Haltech Australia, we'll see if they have any insight.
