so the boost leak gauge paid off seems theres leaks on all the throttle boady shafts and on the vaccum lines to the fpr an pressure sensor.there was only 5psi building up should be able to achive around 15psi for a few seconds "aparently" altho it wont hold pressure gives you an idea on my bad leaks..

i got my temp sender rigged onto my water pump housing.

damn pics wont upload

is that on the vacuum line or the BAC blockoff plate? Almost all your vacuum lines will need to be 5/32" or 3.5mm. 3/16" or 4 mm is too big for most of those nipples on the manifolds. They will leak, trust me. If it's your blockoff plate leaking as well then you should just remove it and replace the gasket or use rtv.

The throttlebody shafts... you did the TB mod didn't you, or otherwise disassembled a stock one? The most reliable thing to do is to put a stock one back on there. Cap off the two nipples on the back for the water thermovalve. Install an OEM coolant hose to the bottom, then run some custom heater line from the top coolant port on the TB to the back of the water pump housing. That will enable your fast idle system to help keep the idle stable when the engine is cold. The throttle plates will be open slightly until the hot coolant makes them close, between ~160 and ~180 F (70 - 80 C).

I guess you could disassemble it again and see what's messed up. You sure the TB elbow o-ring is ok?

Also, don't worry about how much pressure the tester holds relative to what you have the air compressor set to. It's not really important. Just fix the air that's escaping.

the bubbles are coming from the vac lines. not the block off plates.
im not using thetb oring just rtv and it had no leaks either i spryed soap every where

ill find some lines that are 1/8 thats 3.175 mm since the ones i have are 3.5mm and there leaking..

my throttle body was moded when i got it. so i have to pre set idel and do some foot controll..
i disasembled my throttle body today now im trying to find replacement o rings for the shafts since thats were it is leaking. they look kinda worn to. ill have to go to a hydraulic shop on monday. if nothing else ill get another used tb.

thread in 2gen forum on the leak.

small update

after buying the deuce and finding the engine was toast i decided to move it to my mums and bring the repu home.

so today i made a list of things to complete and ordered the parts..

i brought a pair of borla xr-1 racing mufflers 3" in and out
Case Length (in) 12.000 in.
Overall Length (in) 17.000 in.
Thickness (in) 4.500 in.
Width (in) 7.850 in.

now i need a 3"mandrel for the axle and to find a nice 3" turn down tip. the 3" exhaust is in prep for a turbo later which hopefully will make the noise level bearable.

also ordered some new calipers,brake master,fb clutch master,shoes .

that leaves two things left have a drive line fitted then have the exhaust welded up.

gettin excited

cheers

Can't help you with your speedo question but where did you find a repu brake master? I've been getting ready to send mine to a1cardone for a rebuild. First though I'm gonna bleed my lines 1 more time with a helper to completely rule out air in my lines.

Your truck is looking great but I think the constant progress is almost more impressive! Well except for that rx2 distraction lol...

i purchased a centric master from rockauto but got a call the other day saying there out and they sent me this one instead ACDELCO Part # 18M133

this master is made for pre 3/74 so im not sure what the diff is. since my truck is 7/74 but i feel i can make anything work lol..

update.

i got my brake master and it is slightly different the two outlets are closer together and the threads are both for banjos so i simply swapped the first nut over for the front hard-line one. and a few simple bends on the tubing made everything work.

Installed the front caliper was kinda a pita.Replacing the wire springs and fitting the bracket back on the caliper was the toughest. On one caliper i put the old springs on as it was impossible to fit on with the new ones.

the master clutch worked out just swapped the studs no biggie although making the hard-line gave me lots of trouble leaking until finally i just tightened it as much as i could possibly and it stop leaking..strange as usually don't have to do extreme tightening on hard lines. so now the clutch is done and the brake's are almost there .

now back to work lol

cheers

Keep up the work, Hows Eugene these days?

your speedo is calibrated for the rear differential gear ratio + overall tire diameter

The REPU has a really low gear ratio 462 and the RX7 has a higher 390 or a 410 ratio...

you're driveshaft will have to spin more times to go the same distance (assuming the overall tire diameter was the same)...

a larger tire diameter will effectively raise you're overall gear ratio, likewise
a smaller tire diameter will lower the ratio.
