Summit is where I bought mine, IIRC its an 8 circuit. About $100 but its been about 5 years since I bought it.
Just to let you know, my '59 Bugeye with a built 1275(cam, weber 40 DCOE etc) faded the dual cylinder front drums without even trying. Get the Midget discs, they bolt right on and you can get good pads, you will need all the brakes you can get.
If you have not driven a Bugeye, they are a blast. Its about driving a slow car fast over a fast car slow. The problem is ours are fast and the handling can be twitchy with the 1/4 springs in the back. The Spax shocks you can get to replace the stock levers in the rear help a little.
Permission to post a pic of mine in your thread?? Its getting a little touch up since the full restoration, even thinking about Megasquirting the 1275...

Hey Teddy, I'm currently installing the wiring kit and new rag top. I'll post some new pics this week. Looks like you got your hands full yourself and dropped a lot of coin as well. Good luck and keep us posted. Dave

Oh wow that exhaust is gonna be loud. The noise will actually transfer through the wall of the pipe because it's thin guage. Go ahead and try it. It's important that YOU like how it sounds. I'm thinking of redoing mine for the Midget because I don't like the collector shape. It will be in thickwall .120" mild steel to reduce the likelihood of noise leaking through the pipe. I'd like to go 2.25 or 2.5, but 2" is all I have in thickwall at the moment.

What is the diameter of a presilencer. The stock motor had a pancake looking chamber right after the exhaust manifold, was this a silencer? Thanks.

Here's the car getting ready to come off the jacks. I should be rolling it out next weekend to complete the wiring and ignition and prep for fire-up in a few weeks. Still next fuel cell, fuel pump, radiator, e-fan and drive shaft.

Hey Byeye RX, great project! Check out http://www.rogues-racing.com/jeff-ki...onal-champion/ There's some great videos of him on youtube also. What radiator will you be running? My Datsun Roadster is at the shop getting a heart transplant at the moment and we are planning on starting with a heavy duty Datsun radiator (3 row as opposed to the stock 2 row) first and see what happens.

Kent how sweet is that utube video! Thanks, that made my day. I'm not sure on the radiator yet, I'm kinda of tight on space, any suggestion would be great!

Bugeye RX Off the Jacks
Took the Austin off the jack stands. Stance looks good even with original spring. Seem well balanced. At 1300 lbs, I just push it around the yard like a go-kart.

That sounds fun. I got the fresh rebuild in the MG fired up today. It seemed to want to idle within 15 seconds of run time. I think it will be a good engine. There's no cooling system so I couldn't let it run any longer. I'll throw it in something else for a long proper break in.

Need help!!!!!!!!!!
As you can see I jammed this 1987 13 b into a 1959 Austin and am getting ready to fire it up. I converted the EFI to a side draft carb and need to get a distributor/coil set-up install to fire it but I'm not sure what to get? Should I get the pre 1980 points distributor set-up or the the post 1979 HEI distributor? What's the difference? This is my first rotary project and I want to make sure I get the right, best set-up. Thanks for the help, Dave.

Hey Dave, like ultimatejay said, points suck. The early IMSA GTU cars ran stock "breakerless" distributors with much success. I read your post on the other thread regarding tires. Alot of the guys running Bugeyes in vintage racing use 5.5 inch wide Panasports with 185/60/13 tires. You can still get "R" compound tires in this size (R888s, RA-1s...). With your car being so light and if it's not a DD, you could probably get some decent mileage out of them. Also, check out Huffaker Racing www.huffakerengineering.com and the Winner's Circle www.spridget.com for some neat Midget/Sprite parts.

I agree points are a pain in the ***. Is there anything magical about the post 79 HEI system or is it just a black box that needs power. I know the points deal is an easy electrical hook-up. I'm not the greatest electrician that why I went with the painless wiring kit. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the tire idea. I will look into that. Ultimately, I will go with the 1972 Sprite brake rotor upgrade and those bigger tire will fit nicely. Thanks again, Dave.
PS good websites too, lots of cool ideas and stuff, I bookmark them.
