Brake lines and master cylinder is in, just waiting on the fuel cell, seats and I'll be on the road!!!!!! I just all pre-made nickel copper lines they should never rust and they were easy to get tight radius bends by hand.

Here's a short video of the Bugeye underway on Rotary power. I found a vacuum leak and the carb is bubbly under load, but it goes and stop under power, huge step.!!!!!!
Does anyone have experience with tuning side draft webbers?

The lines were pre-made for the original car set-up and I had to move them to the drivers side so the feeder line is now to long. The lines are nickel copper with a British bulb flare and I don't have a bulb flare tool at the moment so I installed the long line until I can cut and reflare it!

Finally the first road test. After some issues I finally got it to run good. The thing scary fast and rev's to the moon. I had a sticky apex seal or two and could not get it to rev over 3500 without it stumbling and bogging. I removed the plugs and work each seal back and forth with an unsharpened pencil while spraying the seal directly with carb cleaner. Once I did this to all seals I then work them again with my pencil and this time sprayed each seal with marvel oil and let them sit over night. The next morning I tried to start it and nothing!!! I removed the plugs and they were found with all the junk I sprayed in there. I cleaned them up and BAM fired right up. and sounded good. I can now move on to paint. I like to thank John (jgrewe) for all his help. He was able to trouble shoot a car 1,000 miles away and walk me through a pretty frustrating time. Bravo dude!

Things are going well and it's running great. I had to replace a bad trailing coil, what a difference it made, much more drivable now. I'm just doing the final body work, spot fixing scratches and dings and then should be ready for paint.

G'day
Great little car,I had a series 3 when I was some what younger (back in the 70's)
with a 1275, head, big SU's, cam etc. it was great fun but a rotary would be so much better.
Nice to see someone else putting a rotary in an old pommy car.
Good luck with the rest of it.
Cheers

If I get it back from paint in time, I might just make it there!

I've been driving the snot out of the Bugeye. I need to save a little more coin to get it a proper paint job, I spent to much on it this summer. I'm still about $3000 under my 10K budget but paint and interior should take care of that. I'll post a foliage run video this weekend if the weather is good.

Cars is running good, but I have a new issue. I can start the car pretty easy and drive it with no issues, but once I turn it off it back-fires a few seconds later, scared the **** out of me a few times. This just started happening, and it does it a lot, everytime I turn it off! Anyone have any idea what is causing this?

Yeah it's all street legal, I just need to finish the interior, and get it painted all pretty. You would not have been disappointed with that Bugeye, the rotary and the Austins are made for each other. Form, fit and function!

Dave, you live in some beautiful country for sure! I saw the pic of your finished exhaust. Are there more mufflers underneath? Sounds great! We had two straight through Magnaflows on the Datsun and it was too loud. Ended up throwing one more on at the back and it has a nice deep sound to it now. The guys at Evil Genius Racing are handling the swap and it's almost there. Unlike you, unfortunately fabrication skills weren't included in my DNA! Glad to see that you're enjoying the little beast!

G'day
Great to see the vids of the car on the move.
Have you taken any performance figures for it yet?
I was playing around last week and tried a 0 - 100kph (62mph) with mine, it is harder than you mite think especially with out a proper stop watch I was using my normal watch. Leaving it in drive I got around 12 sec. but I am sure it could do better. Yours should do a lot better with the manual box and different diff ratio; I am using a 3.9, better for cruising.
Cheers
