NO V8 (or other swap) bashing will be allowed. Your post will be deleted without warning. The number of posts just to start an argument are among the highest in this sub-forum compared to others. It will no longer be tolerated.

2. Keep discussions mature. Most of the people participating in these transplants are either adults or level headed whatever their age is. Show respect and others will return the same to you. A lightly heated discussion is OK, as they are what make great conversation, but if it comes to personal attacks - the thread will be locked and new ones created about the subject will be deleted.

THESE ARE PART OF THE RULES IN OTHER ENGINE CONVERSION WHICH IS MOSTLY COMPOSED OF V8 GUYS. .

Exactly, but they sure can dish out the insults quick when it comes to a rotary swap in a dometic ride. I like how they call us rotards. Is that supposed to be an insult? Very original.

All I can think of (when they get their panties in a bunch while explaining the superiority of the V8 swap) is a bango in backround playing that tune from "Deliverance".

Sorry these idiots jacked up this thread but I gotta give you props again man, congrats a bad *** ride!!!!

The door swings both ways you know. Nothing like complaining about something and then going right ahead and doing it yourself. I may be an idiot, but you're a hypocrite AND an idiot!

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I'm friends with one of the lead designers of the SN94 Mustang, now she's one of the head people for new vehicles, and I worked with Automotive Components Holdings this past summer (intern) on steering gears. The new Mustang is based off of an "orphan" platform. They went with a solid rear axle, and the car is larger in every dimension (not just overall body dimensions) compared with the T-Bird, LS, and S-Type. The solid rear axle is the cause of the "orpan" status. No one wants that anymore. They thought they would save money in design by modifying the T-Bird/LS/S-Type unibody to accept the solid rear axle. It ended up costing them alot more money, and they ended up with an orphan platform. If you know alot of people in Ford, pm me and i'll do some name dropping about who I know and their credientals.

Back on topic now. Absolutely sick. I wanna know some specifics on the car.

Thanks for the clarification Looks like I was mistaken. I could have sworn that FRP Catalogue listed the S-197 as a DEW98 related platform

"Contrary to many news reports, the D2C Mustang platform is not based on the Ford DEW platform. The 2005 S197 Mustang was originally designed to use a "Lite" version of the DEW98, but that plan was eventually scrapped as too expensive. The differences are most noticeable in the suspension: The DEW98-based Lincoln LS uses a 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension, used in many race cars and trucks. The D2C's high-mounted MacPherson struts and lower wishbones are similar to the components used in the front-wheel drive C1, as are the rear trailing arm components."

Never heard of an "SN-94" though...

"For 1994, the Mustang underwent its first major redesign in 15 years. The design, code named "SN-95" by Ford, was based on an updated version of the "Fox" platform known as "Fox-4" and featured dramatically new styling by Patrick Schiavone that incorporated some stylistic elements similar to those on earlier Mustangs."

"Patrick Schiavone is an automobile designer, currently in charge of trucks for North America at Ford Motor Company. Schiavone previously oversaw North American car design at Ford until giving up that post to Moray Callum on May 1, 2006.

Schiavone is credited with the design of the eleventh-generation Ford F-150, the best-selling vehicle in the world. He also directed the design of the Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, and ill-fated Lincoln Blackwood. His most notable design was the 1994 Ford Mustang, a refresh that is said to have saved the "pony car" from extinction. Other Ford cars designed by Schiavone include the Ford Focus and Ford Contour."

As for name dropping, I'll name drop any day, but what good does it really do? If you got info PM me it's always nice to have a new contact!

No problem.

I mis-typed the "SN-94". I was referring to the "SN-95" in your post. I'll PM you with the people I know. I don't really want to post their names online because they've been family friends for almost 30 years.
Anywho, nice research.
