NO V8 (or other swap) bashing will be allowed. Your post will be deleted without warning. The number of posts just to start an argument are among the highest in this sub-forum compared to others. It will no longer be tolerated.

All I can think of (when they get their panties in a bunch while explaining the superiority of the V8 swap) is a bango in backround playing that tune from "Deliverance".

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I'm friends with one of the lead designers of the SN94 Mustang, now she's one of the head people for new vehicles, and I worked with Automotive Components Holdings this past summer (intern) on steering gears. The new Mustang is based off of an "orphan" platform. They went with a solid rear axle, and the car is larger in every dimension (not just overall body dimensions) compared with the T-Bird, LS, and S-Type. The solid rear axle is the cause of the "orpan" status. No one wants that anymore. They thought they would save money in design by modifying the T-Bird/LS/S-Type unibody to accept the solid rear axle. It ended up costing them alot more money, and they ended up with an orphan platform. If you know alot of people in Ford, pm me and i'll do some name dropping about who I know and their credientals.

I could have sworn that FRP Catalogue listed the S-197 as a DEW98 related platform"Contrary to many news reports, the D2C Mustang platform is not based on the Ford DEW platform. The 2005 S197 Mustang was originally designed to use a "Lite" version of the DEW98, but that plan was eventually scrapped as too expensive. The differences are most noticeable in the suspension: The DEW98-based Lincoln LS uses a 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension, used in many race cars and trucks. The D2C's high-mounted MacPherson struts and lower wishbones are similar to the components used in the front-wheel drive C1, as are the rear trailing arm components."
Never heard of an "SN-94" though...

I mis-typed the "SN-94". I was referring to the "SN-95" in your post. I'll PM you with the people I know. I don't really want to post their names online because they've been family friends for almost 30 years.
