Pulled the transmission, and sent it down to be rebuilt . About a week or so away from having a S5 sixport in the old Fb. I will miss the sound of the street ported 12a, but five quarts of oil every week and a half is bad... yet so fun to down shift next to Priuses.

395whp 356tq.

Took it to the dyno at FTW in Eugene Oregon. Stock port made 395whp and 356tq. Not bad considering she got a little heat soaked. I'm a very proud owner today.

Cool

Finished wiring up the Carter fuel pump on the engine swap for Tim's FB. Changed out the drivers side brake caliper after nipple broke....yes it hurt.
And then took it for a drive, needs jetting and a tune but it runs strong.
....I do FB engine swaps in my sleep.

Installed new clutch master & slave cylinders + racing beat ss braided clutch line in my FC yesterday.

BroTip: FC master cylinders don't have push-rods like Toyota's. The FC MC has a little cup(?), for the push-rod which is captive to the pedal on FC's. (Would've saved myself a lot of time and frustration if I looked @ the New MC more closely in the first place, LOL)

Had to take a break for a minute, finances, work, life. It's frustrating leaving a project like this in a 2/3's done state!

Yesterday I got my new ebay special radiator in - this one actually is the right size! wow! I was getting ready to do some custom paint on it before bolting it in, and when I was masking it in, the masking tape pulled off the chintzy spray that they put on from the factory. Its like chrome polished aluminum underneath - why the hell would they cover it up with a crappy rattle can job!? So, I've got some cleaning to do before that goes in.

Only 2 more cuts before the entirety of the wire tuck is done! Last night I finished up the driver's side tuck down to the transmission tunnel harness. This includes factory water temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, starter motor stuff, and transmission stuff.

The only wires I ended up having to extend for this tuck was the water temp sensor and oil pressure sensor wires.

1" hole for the harness. Here you can see the battery positive passthrough as well as fusible links attached to the steering column.

I de-pinned the two harness plugs and pulled the wires through, and as it turns out, the entire harness is long enough to route above the steering column and over to the rest of the tucked harness (visible above the clutch pedal).

All tidied up and ready to route:

Cranked over the motor that's been built and sitting in the car for the last 8 months. Fuel, spark, and a few chuffs, but no rotating under its own power. More troubleshooting ahead.

Drove the other GSL-SE to return the smile to my face.

Start conditions can be hard to figure out! I had a hell of a time finding the right settings on the Haltech.

Today I drilled the MSIII harness disconnect

what did you do to your rx7 today-image-2564103865.jpg

And brushed the intake with brass wire, finished with WD-40. Thanks Jesus for the the fine tuning on the rail fitment. I'm thinking I need to switch to a braided AN inline (series) fuel setup instead of this parallel hose nonsense. Way too much junk.

Bought a bodykit for the GS a LONG time ago from a member, it's been sitting in garage begging me to fix all the gouges and grinder cuts the old owner did to remove it. Finally have been been putting some time into it. Last bit of paint (I found a color that matches good enough for me) is done and I will install it and the kamei front soon.

On the SE, have the Ron Davis radiator in, finished the rear bushings, springs and the tokico's that I've had sitting around for 6 months. Need to do a little more paint touch-up on the hatch, and see if I can get out to see Ben and grab a caliper pin to replace a badly bent one. Still need to re-do the vinyl on the bin lids.

Sold my VR 93 R1. Sad day. It was a stock port that made 395/356 while being heat soaked on the mustang dyno. It had a T04R turbo and made incredible power at 17lbs. of boost. I took great pride in being the one to do all the work on it including the tune. She's now in Seattle with a great new owner. She only had 57k miles so I know she'll be roaming the streets for a long time to come. I think I'm going to curl up in a ball now.
