Got some parts today from mazdatrix for my FC to rebuild my brakes, but they packed a wrong part and I realized that I forgot to order new brake pins. On top of that I don't have the W-shaped spring that goes in between the brake pads and apparently they are impossible to find

Now I have a front caliper hardline for a FD that I don't know what to do with.

On top of all this I was supposed to buy a racing beat header from an guy on Craigslist for $40 on Monday, but my friend needed me to take her to the ER so I forgot to call the guy and tell him I couldn't make it. I called back the next day and he had already sold it

And to top it all off I am moving back home it two weeks (due to my inability to get a job in this shitty economy), which means I need to finish my 5 lug swap, install my LSD, fix a coolant leak, fix a clutch fluid leak, rebuild my brakes, install new injectors, install a new pulsation damper, install a black carpet, figure out why it's sometimes hard to start my car when its warmed up and pack all my stuff up.

Lathered myself in the rotary cologne. Started up the car and let it run for about 10 minutes yesterday and came in smelling like the exhaust. Now if the weather would clear I could even take it out of the garage and wash it. It's getting dusty

I got Cash Moneys car to FINALLY start again!!! Wahoo!
Turned out the bad egi fuse was causing not only the intermittent no start issue, but also the starter to click for no reason. Starts every time now. Let it idle for... 30-40 minute to break in the rebuild.

Now to assemble the interior...

I put a fresh battery in mine, started it for 10 minutes and walked away, shaking my head after I moved it 30 ft in the driveway...

Talking

Well, yesterday I took her out for a much needed breath of fresh air and let her stretch out her legs a little. Just outside of Portland, we went down German Town Road and it seemed every left hand turn there were oil slicks all over the road, yikes. Took Hwy 30 to Scappose Vernonia Hwy up through Mist/Jewel, back on 26 then through Timber to Hwy 6. The pic is at Scapponia Park, it was muddy down there.

This little section of road was sweet, nice pavement, nice curves. Touge? Check out the street view of the road...
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...,0.038495&z=15

Ran a bunch of logs on the RTEK, still running too rich. Lots of 7k rpms and wide open throttle.. Pulls great all the way through rpm range even with the 10afr's. It was a blast, but the slightly wet pavement made some traction issues in second/third.

Next time maybe some other RX drivers would like to go?...

Got the rear bearing pressed off of the stock pinion for my FD diff.

I am installing new 4.77 gears, and there is shim between the pinion and the bearing that has to be reused on the new gears. Ordering a new shim just results in a backorder.

It took about 35 tons worth of the 40 ton press to remove the bearing, my 12 ton press could not budge that bearing.

next time cut the outside of the bearing with a dremel, or die grinder. should press out easy from there, if that doesn't work soak it in penetrating oil of your choice, and try again. use a torch and burn the old bushings out. then just clean it up and paint don't paint inside bushing holes.

This was a bearing, nothing to burn out.

The inner race is pretty heavy, and hard to cut without damaging the pinion, which I didn't want to do.

Been in the garage for 5 months now, put the new Jetta Steering rack on and fab'd up some new rod ends. Laser level ghetto alingment in the dark (very cool). Drove well, needs some tweaking.
took her out for spin yesterday(literally), was nice to get sideways again.
Back in the garage.
My 90' civic gets 33mpg so she sits till spring.

set pinion bearing preload in the diff
ordered 17x9 +45 Enkei RPF1 wheels for rain tires - wanted black or silver - all on back order, so getting gold wheels. Hmmm... not my fav, but doesn't look bad on a black FD.

Getting Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec 255/40/17 tires.

We can paint or powder coat them.

I installed the fast reacting air temperature sensor and applied reflect-a-gold tape to the underside of my UIM and intercooler end tanks. I am definitely observing a difference in charge temps on my PFC!

washed and detailed, purchased new boost controller to be installed this weekend when I hardwire the Valentine V1. With the new boost controller will keep it conservative while deciding whether or not to purchase new injectors/rtek stage2
