The FD Restoration - $$$$ Damnit
If I give the wife enough notice I can come out and help. Are you doing the Alfa day on the 22nd ? I heard from dave that Eddie is putting up a challenge for that day - Rent a sub-compact,put 25 bucks in the kitty and whoever posts the best time wins the pot . I think it should be that everyone drives the same car so the results wouldn't be messed up or everyone rent the same make of car.

My work is doing a massive cleanout of old prototype parts this week and I saw they were throwing away these prototype ducts. Saved them for my own personal use. I might be able to use them to make a custom air intake. Will have to wait and see if I can actually use any of these pieces.
John's motor is out for the third time this year, hopefully once it back in it will be the last for a while.

Remember the girl's with just stickers over the *****? Well if walked down that same row of cars you would have seen it. It was at the right of the front entrance if you want a geographic idea.
I'm trying to get this car done, but I keep getting side tracked with life getting in the way.

Well found out the #1 cylinder spun a bearing, so will either have to find a used motor or a reman. Leaning towards a reman. Hopefully I can get a motor before next weekend so I can change it out and have it ready for my move to my new place at the end of the month. Bike's the only form of transportation and of course it starts to raining, yeah.

Dad's got it, he's been using my truck for the past year now. Man, I swear, everytime I give a car to my dad something bad happens to it! I'm crossing my fingers nothing bad happens to my P.O.S. 323.
Hey Moto- Dave and I drove Bible Creek down to Willamina on Saturday. Man I WILL have to do the Hill climb next year. Say a few long skid marks into some embankments but nothing over the edge. All I have to say what a ******* cool rd down to where the "y" split to Carlton\Bald mtn and Willamina !

Hell ya it is, but the sun-shadow-sun effect at 90mph+ around corners is a little unsettling if you aren't prepared for it.
See Maps for all you cats who don't know the road -Bible Creek Hillclimb RD

How was the Breakin run with the Lotus? Tiring from all that road noise and stiff suspension? Lucky SOB

Good thing you did it in the morning, that road has a lot of traffic for a backroad during the daytime.
53 as a passenger isn't fun, I don't care who you are. Fun to drive/ride though, hehe. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&om=1...172432,0.31929
Figure out the mile marker for the dirt road section on Nestucca River RD? Or did you not do that road?

Yeah I was thinking this time .22 Miles almost to the dot from the Meadowlake & Westside crossing right out of Carlton with about 3.5 miles of gravel and 28 approx to Bible creek. Now we all know everybody's odometers read different so I would say start looking at 21.5. Oh we stopped at the spot where I went off and **** I was lucky to go off where I did. If it was 50' or so before I would of slammed into a gully and flipped it into the trees or 50' after I would of slammed into a huge tree and the embankment.

I would like too, but John's backing out like a little bitch and I'll probably be pretty busy building my motor. If Dave or you don't mind me using your guys cars then I will go. Any word on the rent-a-car challenge?

Holly Crap I'm a lucky ****. Okay, so today I was at PIR waiting in line with Dave getting his Elise teched and here's this guy right next to me with a brand new all black Ford GT. Come to findout it's his first ever trackday and not knowing better brought a bicycle helmet to this event. The tech exclaims you can't used that, I turn around and offer my helmet in exchange for letting me drive his car (sarcastically) and he say okay! I'm like "oh ****, shake my hand and confirm the deal"!
Man, I tell you that car is ******* fast. It's my new street car for which I baseline all others until a faster one comes my way! Terry the owner is probably one of the coolest guys I've meet too. I gave him some instruction during the first few outings. A little rough starting out, but he figured it out quick and was fast the whole day thereafter! Pretty impressive how quickly he picked it up actually.
Then I got to drive Dave's Lotus, thanks Dave! Had a blast trying to keep up with the GT around the corners until he left me in the dust at the straightaways. Unfortunately I bottomed out the front bumper entering a gas station. I'm having a friend of mine (Leo) fix it tomorrow. Fortunately it's at a spot you can't see with out getting on your knees and looking at the bottom of the car. It should be fixable, if not, then I owe him a new full one piece front end.
Then on the last session out I get to drive Lance's Mazda 3, thanks Lance! That was fun too, considering I made a lot of guys frustrated in faster cars by keeping up and passing them. Lance did you notice the guy in the old lotus trying to get rid of me but couldn't do it, so he gave up and let me by? Hehe
Oh, I got the truck motor out Saturday and waiting for parts to come in Wednesday to fix it. Not going to get a Reman at $1400, not worth it. Cutting it close for next weekend, but hopefully I can get it done.
Rock on
