Nice, getting the 411 from Blake in the House!
Alright, finished the rad/IC mount. Not totally happy with it, but it will do. John, convinced me to retain my original setup, I just modified it to work better. Both the Rad and IC are properly rubber isolated from the chassis, but properly held in place too. The lower pipe is to give you an idea of where the primary turbo intake ducting will be.
I made all the brackets for the oil cooler mounts today too. Once I get two of the mounting plates sheared for clearancing and it should come together quickly.

Another good source for fittings is Oil Filter Service, near the Goodwill in close-in SE Portland.
What would really be nice for those of us on the West side is a place in Beaverton/Hillsboro that has Aeroquip/Earls. Open on Saturday would be nice.
Anyone know of such a place?
Re the rivnuts - bought a Metric rivnut kit at Parkrose HW yesterday, made an oil line bracket and attached with Rivnuts today.
Neat tool.

I had to go to Seattle Friday night and fix my truck after my dad got into a fender bender earlier last week. He needed it somewhat fixed before he left for Colorado next Tuesday. I had to use a giant waste bin pickup point, 7000 lbf tow strap and the trucks own motorized power to bend the bumper out of the wheel well. Then used crowbars and a mallet for the rest. Gorilla taped the headlight since all the plastic clips broke, all in all not a bad temporary fix.

Well, two weeks in a row now I've been mostly working on other people's cars. Spent most of the weekend getting Cartapex's car running mostly right with street tuning and fixing small issues, like a loose oil return fitting off of the turbo. The tune is pretty close, just needs to be dyno tuned now.
However, I was able to start on the modification of my hood. Need to cut out the support structure, form the lip and then weld on a new support structure. I also got a hood pin assembly and will be putting that in too.

Alright, so I started the process of forming the front lip and made a template of the curvature I need to follow for the support structure. Will be making a support frame before I finish the top surface. Need to remove the exposed support frame under the new lip now.

Alright the frame for the hood is mostly done, just need to make closeout panels and a few other things to finish it. Turning out pretty good, not perfect, but that's to be expected without a jig. This hood will need a lot of filler to cover over the shrinkage/forming experienced from the welding. If you plan on doing something like this....DON"T....buy yourself a hood and save yourself the work and frustration.
Bobbo also helped me for a short time putting in the side skirts this weekend.

First layer of etching primer, this will be sanded off to find the remaining low/high spots.
Hood needs one more piece welded on, the aesthetic welds grinded and bondo laid up on the A surface and it's done.

I was told to correct my vocabulary so that I don't confuse people. I am not using Bondo, but infact using 3M Poly Flex Body Filler, or in acronym terms 3MPFBF. Thanks John for correcting me on this.
Anyways, see attached picture of some remaining etching primer after sanding showing where a low spot is in the 3MPFBF.
