I am looking for a great body shop in western Washington. I'm In Snohomish county but will take it where the best spot I can find is.
Yesterday a dear ran full speed into the side of my FD while I was crusing at 35 mph. Dented and cracked the paint on the driver door and the rear fender. Snapped the mirror off (looks like bracket only), scratched the front quarter panel, A piller, and black trim around the door. And either the dear or the mirror bracket chipped the hood just below the the A piller.
She only has 53k on it near stock, original paint, and I have been restoring/catching up maintenance on things the last 6 months. It's a heart breaker. I waited 14 years for this car and got nailed on one of my first long drives on a nice day...all alone. Luckily I had tools with me including electrical tape to hold the mirror until I got home as it was dangling from the harness.
I have my insurance agent and family friend helping me out as well. Just need the right person. Looking for the expert touch for sure.
Thanks everyone for any help you can provide. She is running amazing, by the way.
This fared much better than a Mazda6 I owned that was also broadsided by a deer. It’s hard to tell from the pictures because I don’t see the cracks in the paint you mentioned. If it’s surface level and not enough for a fingernail to catch the “scratches” then perhaps a PDR shop (for any dents) and a specialty shop that focuses on paint correction could buff the paint. It’ll be difficult paint matching 30-year old car so there would be a lot of blending that would be pricey.
Also, if you need the LH side mirror base, I have one for sale ($30).
Not sure if I just need the base or more yet. The base part seems ok, the mirror side bracket snapped. Does the base peice include both brackets?
Found a body shop locally my agent recommended. They send the work to these guys when it requires more skill.
As for the paint cracks, they are hard to see from the pictures but about 8 inches long each and cracked all the way through to the metal. the shop seems confident they can rrepair it all and minimize filler. They pull as much out of the dents first.
Thanks for the offer and I will let you know if i need that base! I want to keep it as original as I can so if I can save the mirror that would be awesome.
I was able to get the repair done but could only find a rhd mirror that "works" but had the bubble effect. I need to find a whole driver side LHD mirror if anyone knows where to find one. The body shop accurate lines has been fantastic and got her dialed in and looks like new. Just need the correct mirror. Anyone have a lead on one?

Thanks again!
You can replace just the glass, it takes about 10 minutes with the right tools. All that's needed is a small heat gun/good hair dryer and a plastic pry set.
Do I need to adjust the hardware behind it at all to get the correct mirror angle or is that the same on lhd and rhd?
I don't think the motor and glass holder are any different, I think it is just the glass itself. If your old mirror glass didn't break, you can remove it and swap it over. "Icon Garage" did a video on mirrors a few years back, search for the channel on youtube to find it.
