Starting issues

I've had my '87 Turbo II for a little over a year now. When I first purchased it I had a tune up done and had the idle adjusted. It has run extremely well since then, aside from a few cosmetic issues I have had no problems. Recently I parked it for about a week and then tried to start it and it wouldn't crank. I completed the flooding procedures and just purchased new spark plugs. Now it will crank, turn over, run for about 10 seconds and then die out. I am concerned that I am having either a injector issue or an intake issue. One of my vacuum hoses is a little worn, but it's not chewed up or anything also there is not even a quarter of a tank of gas in it and it's on an incline (rear down). This is the information I have, any help would be appreciated.

welcome to the board.

does it stay lit if your feather the throttle?

chances are if you have identified a vacuum hose that is suspect, then you probably have a vacuum leak (whether that particular hose or some other(s)).

I had a car that was Finicky to start on hills.I put the car on level ground,Boom, starts right up.
Check your AFM at your Air box( air filter, whatever you have on there) and make sure that the Connector from the harness(big *** connector) is attached to the AFM(air flow meter).
If it is not the car will start and die..over and over again until that is connected.

Thanks for the responses so far guys.
Update with a little more info: I purchased a new battery, put 5 gallons of gas in it and did the complex un-flooding procedure including putting an ounce of ATF into the lower plug ports. When I crank it, I get a lot of white smoke from the exhaust (which I understand is normal)but it still only runs for a few seconds before sputtering out. I am thinking it still hasn't been completely unflooded.

It would be easier to perform this task at the Circuit Opening Relay. It is Yellow and Black and located below and to the right of the steering column. Has tow rows of wires, three on top and two on the bottom (bottom left wire is solid Black and bottom right wire is solid Brown). Jumper the two wires on the bottom to each other. U shaped piece of wire w/each end stuck into the back of one of the wires in the plug as this bridges the two wires to each other. Your AFM has an internal fuel switch used to make sure the fuel pump runs after the car has started. If this switch is bad the result would be the car starts right up, but dies within a couple of seconds. Not saying this has to be your problem, but it would take all of two minutes to find out.
