Limp Mode issue

Hey there, my name's Christie and I have an 87 fc and currently the issue I'm having is being unable to accelerate at high rpms. I can only accelerate to 2500 rpms and then it'll start to cut out from there and not accelerate further. But then sometimes it'll also free rev okay, but that's rare. I bought a new maf but I was told to maybe check my tps? I'm definitely a beginner so I don't know how to go about all that. Can you help me with locating and diagnosing the tps please? I'm learning as I go with this build so please bear with me haha.

Pull codes,,it's an S5..and that is Limp mode, most likely from a bad OMP(oil metering pump)..it can take the ECU out too,so best to look into it now.

It does not have limp mode, that is all there is to it. You can pull codes, but it requires 2 LEDs

series_4_error_codes

I would say you have a bad TPS from the description of the problem

only the S5 has limp mode and only really because the oil metering pump is electronic, which is why virtually all limp modes on the s5 are related to the OMP. the s4 have a mechanical OMP and no limp modes.

the S4 can give similar symptoms if the TPS has a dead spot in certain ranges, or beyond a certain point in travel.

another possibility is a semi clogged catalytic converter. i have had them at times plug nearly completely and then rattle free and lose the symptoms temporarily.

Check leading coil? Car will start with only trainings but will lose all power without leading coil.
