Stock boost.

More with fuel mods.

Around 8 PSI with an FCD and no other mod. Any more requires an upgraded fuel pump. Around 10 PSI you need larger secondaries and some way to control them.

But the only way to be absolutely sure is to check AFR ratios. Some cars end up leaning out well before 10 PSI. Some are rich all the way to 12.

Yes. 2 primarys and 2 secondaries. The secondaries are staged to come on at 3800 rpm.

how do you build for big boost say 20 psi? im new to the rotary scene but knew it would need fuel mods.

On the stock turbo? You don't. It runs out of breath at about 12 psi, and will not last long when pushed over that mark constantly.

Don't even think of running the stock turbo at 20 PSI. At 13 PSI, it is dropping efficiency fast and is out of breath before 14 PSI. At that point is is pumping more heat then air and turbo life (as well as engine life) becomes questionable.

You will find the FSM in the FAQ sticky. It will familiarize you with the EFI system used on the RX-7.

+2, ....also, that would ring true with just about any small displacement turbo car. t3, 14b, vj12, any of em (i named a slight few of hundreds of different models of stockie snails) will turn into a hairdryer after about 1 bar.

it would be better to know your horsepower goals, not boost goals. Same boost will create different power with different turbos, and I think it's been established that you want more than the stock turbo can handle.

If you know about the efficiency ranges of turbos, instead of running an ungodly high number like 20 PSI, pick a turbo which is efficient at a lower boost for the power you want.

Telling us how much power you are looking for and the intended use for the car is a bit critical to receive good advice.

When you get into high boost levels like around 20 PSI, pump gas becomes a bit of a liability. Proper intercooling and some kind of chemical cooling (ie. meth injection) is necessary to maintain reliability.

Nope.

But you will need supporting mods like a full standalone, intercooler, fuel mods, etc.
