hey i just got finished putting my engine block back together and was wondering if there is anyway to set/check the endplay on my engine without a dial indicator?

Not that I can think of. Anything else would just be a rough estimate. IIRC, if the engine was assembled with the same parts, the endplay should be as it was previously.

You can get creative by measuring the play between the flywheel and engine with feeler gauges, but if this is your first time, stick with the dial indicator.
