Endplay WTF MATE!! Gotta question ??!/?

Ok, starting with a K spacer the endplay was .0038.

Bought a V and a Z spacer.

V spacer brings endplay down to .0025. I am happy with that but here is the wack part...

Z spacer brings the endplay down to ZERO! How the hell? The spacers change size by .0008 . How the hell did that spacer remove .0025 endplay in comparrison to the K spacer endplay.

Thanks....I just wanna know why this is happening.

This is on new thrust bearings.

Only way to get zero endplay is to pinch a thrust washer upon reassembly.

FYI... if you don't have a good stock of spacers handy, and want to DECREASE your endplay, you can file your own. Lay a piece of 800 grit sandpaper onto a piece of glass, wetted with thin oil to keep the paper in place, and then, using a bucket of water with a few drops of soap in it (to keep the sandpaper from gumming up), place the spacer on the piece of paper and move it in an orbital pattern, or figure 8's. Its best to take a micrometer measurement before you start, and then remove just enough to get you to your desired spec, and then get spot on with a piece of 1500 grit sandpaper.
If your endplay is too little, then you must purchase a thicker spacer.

Yeah, I dont under stand either man....the thrust washers are fine...no damage to them what so ever.

I don't understand how that happened.

I miced the Z spacer and it is the correct size.

I am gonna be happy with teh .0026 that the endplay is now.

Thanks man!
