1986 Charcoal canister lines relocation.

Hi, i have a problem with pressure being made into the fuel tank i suppose because the last owner of the car removed the charcoal canister and i assume that he just put a cap on those lines.
I'm not sure where those lines should end in the engine bay because none of the diagrams that i find here or in the internet looks like the configuration of the emissions system in my car, in most of them the line appears to end in the oil filler neck but in my car there's only one line possible as far as i can see that goes from the neck to the purge control valve.

My question is: Can i use a catch can vented with an air filter instead of a charcoal canister and it will help keeping the fumes controlled? I don't want to vent the fuel line directly to the engine bay or neither near the exhaust. (If you're wondering why i dont just buy a charcoal canister is because they're expensive and difficult to find in good condition)
And: Where the charcoal canister line should ends exactly in an S4 FC?

Thanks for read!

this is certainly worth a look. i know your problem is that you already don't have one, but there is some info in it that you might find relevant to your situation.

Charcoal canister removal thread

that said, the canister and associated lines end up at the passenger side strut tower (the aft side of it).

here's a photo: https://www.nopistons.com/2nd-genera.../#&gid=1&pid=2

here is another thread. it won't hurt to read it, but i'm linking it mainly because there is a schematic diagram in it (post # 10).
