Hey. Anytime you guys are doing work like pulling apart the engine or anything, I'd love to come help/watch. I don't know anything about internals, and my goal is to streetport/rebuild my 12a this summer (although I might just get brett @ rotary performance to do it, but he said it'd be like $2700), so I'd love to learn anything possible. Good luck with your project, Zach. Did you say you're bridge porting it?

Robin- That site is to funny, I don't want to know what you where looking for when you stumbled across it???

1.1- Once you take out the intercooler, intake and all associated plumbing the rest is pretty basic. You would deffinately recognize this engine after all of that junk is gone.

Zach- Are you going to be working on this engine any this week? I would like to try and help if you think you could use any.

rob expect your hat and your scredriver sometime soon. I sent it off today. The screwdriver has some gunk on it when some flat-be-gone exploded in my glove compartment. Yea, that was loads of fun to clean up. Either way I got all of it off except some small patches in side the bit its self. It shouldn't effect much. I've decided to forget about looking for an S5 TII since all of them seem to be out of my budget. So I'm trying to find an 88 TII and I'll do the conversion. So if you find one for under a grand if you don't pick it up first then I'd love to have it. It doesn't have to work.

zach - if you dont mind, i would like to take the rotor that swallowed the apex seal. if you need it, thats fine, i just would like to add a 12a rotor to my collection of ****. it sucks both housings are fucked. i would imagine so though after all the racing that guy put it through, he told me a while back "that damn buzzer was so aggravating, i got to the point where i could tune it out, but after a while, i just disconnected it

robin - i bought a project car that im putting a not-to-be-said motor into. it had a blown 12a in it, and since it needed to come out, and i have no use for it, i gave it to zach.

So I heard, that is going to be a beast. A buddy of mine has one that is boosting almost 30 lbs. It is fast as hell even with the car weighing a ton, can't imagine one in a 2700 pound 1st gen. Are you rebuilding it before you put it in? Do you have some type of a kit or are you going to be doing a lot of fabrication? Let me know if you need a hand, I will be more than happy to help out.

David, Thanks man, let us know when you are going to be in the big city again, maybe some of us can get together for a beer.

It's all yours. It's soaking in the parts cleaner right now.
This is probably going to be a slow moving project. It all depends on how much support I get. In the next few weeks, I'll only be doing some cleaning type stuff. When I start building I'll let you guys know. This is an engineering project, so alot of the stuff I'm gonna have to fabricate myself (intake & exhaust systems). That is what I'm going to need the most help with. I don't have much fabricating experience.

ill be running between 18-22psi.. 3" exhaust, starion intercooler, and a few other things to get it running, ill probably be pretty content. from what ive heard, low 13's with horrible traction..

and for the record, my first gen with 3/4 tank of gas, full interior weighed ~2350 with me in it... this one wont have storage bins, tar, and various other things.

I cleaned off the busted rotor during lunch today. I've gotta get some pictures of it. There are some serious divots and gashes on two faces of the rotor. I'm sure the apex seal was disinegrated before it was kicked out the exhaust.

I live on the southside, a little bit past the huguenot bridge. Like 10 minutes or so past it. Just into the southside, heh. My friend is Carter (ididoth on the forum, but he never posts). He has a black 90 vert.

i talked to joe (guy i bought the car from, and the guy who did the crow bar when we pulled the motor) he said dave (the guy who blew the seal) blew it at an autox, drove it 20-30 mins on a blown rotor, and still wasnt easy on it. in fact, he said he TRIED to race a truck at a stop light. sounds to me like dave was trying to get stranded.

Ey Rob, did you reuse the turbo/DP gasket when you put on the RB system?

Come watch :o I'm not racing (have to be 18 or have parents signature). I'll be recording most of it though. Should be fun, I've never been to a drag event before.

last night was alright. my first run was a 17.3, but i missed 3rd gear and had a little touble getting it in. second run was a 16.5... it was alright, but i was shooting for 15.9. i have a new carb on my car, so i think thats what was slowing me down vs. last time. my best time was 16.409.

they had a sr20det 240sx there.. it was sooo badass it ran a 13.4.

it was also bike night, and they has a wheelie contest. it was insane. 2 of the guys held the front end up the whole 1/4 mile. one guy sat on the front end over the front wheel and pulled the front end up for about 100ft.
