Have you talked to the Lufteknic guys they carry alot of Porsche parts in house, they've even got a 914 in their showroom up front.
I say build a 914-6 with one of the earlier 3.0L motors if you're gonna build something.

Hey are you at all familiar with Bobby Smith's monster of a 914?
(one of my most favorite cars evar!)

i have so much 914 crap it is ridiculous, definitely dont need any more. The 3.0 would be fantastic, however i am poor as can be. Thats primarily why i am sitting on it currently, once my money situation improves I will invest in it and make it the car i want it to be. Porsche crap is way to expensive. I have not heard of the bobby smith monster, unless your are talking about the one on Pelicanparts.com. That one is pretty cool, and was an inspiration for me to do the big four.

91 GXL running parts car - $1500

you guys know the car and your local so you get first crack at this stuff

1991 FC
White with cf hood w/Aerocatch latches
160K
5spd
all accessories work - AC, pwr window, cruise, pwr mirrors, fog lights
JDM ftp lenses that are wired and working
new HP+ brake pads
passed inspection as of yesterday
KYB AGX struts w/Tein springs
Megan Racing front strut bar
Cusco rear strut bar
gutted cat, Corsa catback exhaust
Koyo Racing radiator w/efan
JVC stereo also some wiring for a big *** sub

the bad:
brakes should grab harder in my opinion - my gues slave and master need arebuild or just a new set of brake lines
random overheating - is it the water pump? the lack of an undertray? the oil cooler?
dunno, that's why me sell cheap

Extras on sale

BBS 'vert wheels with good condition center caps on Bridgstone RE009's with plenty of life left in them -$300

Borbet type "S" wheels with very dead Hoosiers - $250

Racing Beat engine torque brace (never installed) - $50

Corksport SS brakelines for single piston caliper brakes - $50

GTUs LSD in it's carrier, just bolt it right in - $300

or take everything for $2K

that reminds me, I also have a completely disassembled trans that would be good for parts
I would just need to bring it back from my folks place
the only thing missing is the 1st to 2nd gear synchro - which I shattered

he was at he Starbucks meet this past Friday - got there kinda late, but was there none the less
Oh and after the 28th I've driven the FC everyday with no further incident - I guessing stuck thermostat, anway I'm gonna put it through it's paces the next couple of weeks with much longer drives.
If it gives me no further issues I'll bump the price.

I got an update on my old FD, it's been awesomafied:

whats been done
Hey man, this is Matt. Im the one who bought your FD a few years back. I can start buy saying this car has been brilliant. I have had no trouble with her at all. The first year I had the car, it was an auto-x *****. I drove the car in an auto-x about 2-3 times every month of the season. I decided to do an engine rebuild. The engine is currently half-bridge, has 2 piece apex seals, solid corners, enlarged exhaust ports, and coolant jacked modifications. Im running an Electramotive TechGT standalone, and had a custom wiring harness made by DefinedAutoworks. DefinedAutoworks also did a v-mount, solid motor mounts, 3in 310 stainless turbo back with a borla muffler, a Precision t04e super 60 single conversion, dual walboro 255 pumps, 2 1600's, and 2 850's, and aeromotive fpr. Im running a synapse 50mm waste gate, Blitze dd bov, and had all of the aluminum pipes for the intercooler made and welded. I stripped the car down to 2380lbs, and corner balanced it. I installed a full rollcage, and the Apexi el-meter series gauges with controller box.
Now the power part. The car was tuned on 15lbs and made 400hp, 340lbs of tq on a dynapack dyno. I am running Racing Gear N1 spec coilovers that I imported, along with being rebuilt with motul dampener fluid, and swift springs. I also replaced the spherical rod ends. I installed Hawk racing pads as well. The wheels are 17x10 all the way around. I also installed dual oil coolers. I plan to run hpde, and time attack events. I would like to participate in at least one redline event this year. I just thought it would be cool to update you on your old car.

My engine has been dropped off at Alex Dimen's Parent's house for a rebuild (didn't know he'd be so close to my parent's shop)

I will be ordering a new turbo soon, because my old one has a slight crack around the Vband flange or w/e you want to call it. I might just end up selling it for cheap.

Wheels will be on my FD soon, I plan on re-routing my battery lines, and degreasing the engine bay. We'll see how things go =D
