Thats the second deer to hit that car, I sideswiped one in October '06 up on Long Island.
that one just bounced off the rear quarter panel - it just left a long nose print streak and some fur, not a dent anywhere.
You needed a new hood anyway, get an aluminum one if you can.
We were all up at my parents place in Stuarts draft this weekend, and I did notice ALOT of deer carcasses.
Also I got to do a little work on the Miata

now I just gotta get her home.

Where's your Miata right now? Is it somewhere far away?

Hey Dave, I need some explainations regarding suspension. Think you could tell me more about Toe Links, sway bars, etc?

I'd love too, but it's a little out of my price range right now. The CVMC meets up every 3rd Saturday of each month in a mall parking lot in Lynchburg, right next to Liberty University. Go here: http://centralvirginiamazdaclub.com/

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask you what happened to the one that's on there? Not only the bare spot, but it looks like it may have been bent at some point?

Unfortunately, My deer did not die. When I first got out of the car, I was too consumed with "What happened to my car!?! How much is broke!?!" to even think about addressing the deer, and when the thought finally crossed my mind to run over there and punt the moron in the face, she had just hobbled onto her feet and was limping away... I hate stupid Mammals...

Good looking work on the Miata! She'll be one mean track machine this season!

bare spot is the result of rust, I know y'all aint to familiar with that stuff down here but up on Long Island it's a fairly common occurence - it basically what happens when air and moisture get in under the paint
probably bent under its own weight

my deer story:
I was up on Long Island back in October of 2006 for a high school reunion.
Since I had a well set up sports that I never had when I grew up there I decided to tear it up on some familiar back roads.
One road in particaular had this nasty S turn that I loved to blast through. What made it nasty was that it was bisected by railroad tracks, so you tended to catch air when you went through at speed - it had thrown quite a few people into the trees.
Anyway as I'm about to enter the turn a deer darts across the road and into the brush, me thinking were done continues on. The stupid deer in a misguided attempt to flee the vicious RX-7 predator circles around to greet me at the exit of said S turn. So I nail the gas and flick the wheel for a right turn to kick the tail left out of the deers way (deer is coming in on my right side).
WHAM!!!
I see the deer do a barrel roll behind me and little hoves spinng frantically in the air.
It then get up and runs off into the woods. I had drive another 5 miles to get to parking lot with lights to see if the damage as the backass road had no lights.
I see some fure sticking to the side of the car and a really good nose print and streak down the length of the re quarter panel. Apparently the dumbass deer ran face first into the car.
This of course all happened to me on the way to the reunion night dinner.

just need my track set of wheels and tires - just with the three braces the car is already WAY more stable, I just need stiffer springs to keep the nose from diving under hard braking

Soo... for those of you who haven't heard... I fell COMPLETELY off the rocker this weekend...

It's a 1983 VW Rabbit, and I got it for an absolute STEAL. Still not really sure what I'm gonna do with it yet... but I'd love to keep it and make it my new pet...

Hey Dave,

I read in the Corksport forum that you have their stainless steel brake lines, what do you think of them? I'm thinking about picking up their SS brake and clutch line, and some speedbleeders, what do you think of them?

Pierce, full t2 swap for $1600 in the for sale section of the NE section. you need to pick that up man.

.
they're still in the damn box, I never got the chance to put them on the car
they're for the single piston caliper GTU brakes
which I don't have anymore
and I "think" Pierce is gonna upgrade to 4 piston calipers soon

Alex wears those super glasses that lets him see everything, even through underpants. Don't know if that's good or not.

I don't know if I'd call Bells a meet, more of a clusterfuck of hummanity.
Not to say I haven't been down there a couple of times, but I always felt like we
were all gonna arrested because of he dumbasses all the time.
Fights, bs, pos cars, ricers, thieves , etc...... - real fun time.
Pretty much the opposite of the starbucks meet.
Wait till summer when it gets bigger, I was actually surprised Terry didn't roll down with his new EVO9 race car.
