You may be thinking of "Fritz Flynn". He is in VA (forget where exactly...) and he is always sitting on a TON of fd parts, plus he is a real stand up guy. PM him, there's a good chance he will have an extra oil pan sitting around.

Ya Fritz Flynn is the guy that I sent a PM to. Good to know I foudn the right guy.

I just called MazdaTrix and they sell one for $123 with an additional $10 in shipping. The dealership is $156 but they say they will just give it to me at wholesale which is $123. Difference is shipping is free at the dealership vs at MazdaTrix where they charge $10 more. So I am gonna wait a day or so to see if Fritz pm's me back, if not then I will just get the one from the dealership. At least that way I am ensured that it has never been over tightened, which would get me back in the same predicament.

What dealership are you getting parts from? Malloy Mazda?

Most people order new OEM parts from Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda (in woodbridg, VA), he has nice prices and usually free shipping. You can try there, but it sounds like you are already getting the best deal at $123 from the local dealer. Good luck in finding a used one.

Fritz just emailed me offering one for $85 shipped.

I am waiting to hear how many engines it has been on etc etc...

By the way, is there an official RX-7 or mazda club here in Richmond? I am a member of MSCW in Washington, but I never make it to the meetings because they are all the way in Tysons Corner. I would like to get in with a group that could possibly schedule track and tech events and other club related activities here in richmond.

I'm all up for starting one. I know some car club based in hampton wants me to join...I don't have the time to drive out there every saturday tho. I know some kids from petersburg that would probably be down.

There are really just not enough young, perfomance minded car enthuiast here in the Richmond area to form a car club with any real direction. I tried once - it failed in about 2 months.

yeah, most want cars that "look good" all show and no go . i'm starting to fade that way unfortunately...just because it's easier to get a sponsor with a good looking car than a fast one that I can't race

Long time no see, right?

I found the car I want, and I bought it. 2001 BMW 330ci. It's pretty sweet! Since the GTU project is gonna take me a while, this'll be my autoXer for a while.

Here are a few photos of the painted interior of the GTU. I've already swapped over the GC coilovers, Tokico shocks, camber plates, and tower bars. Next is a roll cage, seats, motor, wheels, tires....this, that.

Next autoX March 20th...

Zach,
Did you make that rear tower bar? I don't like the idea of butchering the speaker towers for a street car, but I think thats the best boltin rear brace I have seen yet.

I sort of run the club in Hampton Roads. I am not really sure you would call it "official" but we get together once a month for meetings somewhere. We usually have about 20 people or so at the meetings. We use this site to aoorange the meetings and stuff:

as well as this thread:

Anyone is welcome anytime.

No, its Corksport. I had it in my street ride. All you have to do is take a hole saw to the side of the speaker tower and slide the brace in.

A 96 kawasaki zx7r, its something to start out on. Its got a polished frame, and polished wheels, it has high miles (30,000) but just something to ride, and its cheap! I need a new front fairing so if you know any hook ups that would be great.

if you only want to replace the front fairing because its got some road rash on it, and its your first bike, i say dont waste your money. you will drop it, whether its in a parking lot at a rolling speed, or going down the highway at 70. everyone drops their first bike. i dont know much about those, but the newer zx6 and zx10's are insane. goodluck with that, and if you ever want to ride give me a call.
