Well, one reason, the loan I'm taking out to pay for that red car is going to be a personal loan, not a car loan (jack up the rates ~10%) because it's one year out of their bracket for car loans...bah.

I'm going to try and pick up an evening job to pay off this shitty loan asap.

It looks new in person too. My dad takes really freaking good care of his cars. He just got a new Tacoma, so I'm buying that off of him (I do need a car...).

I wish life was like Gran Turismo. I could just drive a few races and make enough money to buy your car. I would also have 100 cars in my garage, including 3 F-1 cars. So I guess a 91 TII wouldn't be a very big deal anyway.

For those who haven't seen Jayson's setup, it's a cupholder out of a Ford Taurus in the blank area under the stereo. Pretty slick setup if you ask me. Any pictures?

There are cupholders in the glove box lid you know...
they just suck ***.

I drink coffee in my DD, but with no cupholder, 350 lbs./in, no power steering, and MT, I usually end up wearing it.

I just don't want the smell of 3 months old fries covering up the aroma of motor oil and coolant.

Greg - I'm online now. How bout you get on sometime - ho! Honestly though, it isnt that easy playing around anymore when I leave at 6am and dont get home til 8pm. Oh and yea, since I did the shifter bushings, it doesn't hit the cupholder anymore.

I'll take some pics of the FC cupholder next time I'm over at the garage for everyone.

i was on my bike today with my girlfriend on the back. i have my learners (illegal to ride by yourself, but you can if your riding with someone who has a licence, but the guy i was riding with and i just split up.

im going down this street following a car at ~35 in a 25 (behind a car) and im meeting my friend ricky and his girlfriend ashley at the end of this street at his house. as i get to the bottom of a hill, i see a car with parking lights on sitting on a side street. i look and think its a cop and keep going. i seem them turn on their lights and pull out. i think to myself "****, i have someone with me, and i dont have my licence or someone with me who does". i alway told myself i would NEVER run from a cop on my bike, its just not worth it. so we start going up this hill (me and the car in front of me) and i see that theres another car behind me and the cop didnt pull out in front of that car which held him up hardcore. im by this time not in sight of the cop and i think to myself "if i dont run, im going to be dumb since im already out of sight.

heres where i know ill get flamed, but the car in front of me is going 25mph because he saw it too. im out of sight of the cop in 3rd gear and i roll the throttle, pass the car and start booking it down this street. theres not many houses and its pretty late, but i just dont let off the throttle till i start coming in on ricky's house. i turn onto his street, and go straight into his back yard (his driveway goes back there) i get off the bike and call him because he wasnt there.

me: dude, where the **** are you?
ricky: my house man, where are you?
me: im at your house man, hurry up i need to get in your garage
ricky: why, everything cool
me: **** naw, i just ran from a cop, i need to hide my bike
ricky: im close man, ill be there in a sec.

just as i get off the phone, this car starts coming by the house REAL slow. i couldnt really see it because it was dark, but it looked like it hard a strip like the cop cars around here. i almost **** my pants. they pull in the driveway and it was ricky and ashley.

ricky: what happened man
me: - i told him -
ricky: we should get your car in the garage
me:what are you waiting for
ricky: too bad that wasnt a cop, it was us

i about kicked his ***. they did it as a joke

i felt like **** for putting my girlfriend in that position on my bike, i really wasnt thinking, but when i got out of site of the "cop" i thought if i didnt try it would be dumb. i know something could of happened and it kinda sucks. but i guess the fact is that nothing did happen and after everything calmed down, it was kinda funny. ricky apologized afterwards because he didnt think about if we got hurt.

like i said, i know ill get flamed for being a dumbass and what not, but no one got hurt.

i got OWNED

take it as learning experience
and remember the feeling the next time you think about running

Question for Zach: Does your oil light come on when autocrossing? Mine did about 3 times this sunday out in Verona at the BRR SCCA event. It was a REALLY tight course so I am assuming all the oil was getting shoved to one side in the oil pan. Would premixing help alleviate any problems? The light/buzzer was on fo about 1 second each time, this the only time I've ever seen the idiot light come on for the oil.

Mike, nobody got hurt, so that's funny as hell! You got pwn3d! Ahahahahaha!

Yeah, my light comes on every once in a while. Like you said, it's just getting sloshed away from the float sensor. Sometimes, I'll get overrev buzzer and oil buzzer at the same time. That's when I know I'm going fast.

I can't wait for THIS Sunday. Hopefully you'll be ready in time Zach or just drive the Vette.
Edit:
Zach i just remembered this, according to the listing the BRR SCCA any non-turbo RX-7 is in E class including our FC's. The FC TII is in B class however.

Yeah, but when it's street prepared it's CSP. I never understood why it isn't ESP, since it's E stock unmodified.

I'm going to pull the intake manifold Wednesday to see if I have a leaking oil injector line. Hopefully that'll do it.

I'd ask someone from the SCCA about that, there is WAY to much interpretation by VMSC going on. It took quite a while to figure out what to class the Ghia as and I had a ton of people going "you can class it as that, no it this, I'm right your wrong, blah blah blah"
Like the Ghia was a threat in anyone's class, jeez.

Nah, ESP is the Mustang and Camaro class (ok, WRX and others are there now). There is no direct 1-1 relation between stock and Street Prepared.

When SP was created, they had A-G stock and A-D street-prepared. So as you can see there were plenty of combinations. Over the years there have been all sorts of changes, but jsut because you are in some stock class does not mean you are in the street-prepared class named by the same letter. But it really doesn't seem fair that some of the cars that are in CS down through GS in some cases are lumped together in CSP.
