my friend just got NNNAAAAWWWWSSS for his crx and has a b20 to be put in, so i want to see him throw something out the hood other than that, yea, i want to make some runs and see how it differs now from when my car was bone stock.
88vert - if the apex seal was broken, wouldnt it miss 2 compression strokes because its letting 2 cambers into one? good find though. if you decide you dont want one of those motors.. ill be glad to buy it from you unless you are trying to get both cars running.

Sounds like fun. I may be up for it, just depends on the car situation. Either way, I will probably be there to watch.
Well, the motor is in finally. We had a little bit of a delay with a few bolts that I had snapped off from brute strength that I forget about sometimes. Another problem that slowed me down was the blockoff plate for the sub-zero start assist. I think my hands are still thawing out from having to make that in my grandfathers cold *** garage. The next problem, which I am still facing, is the water hose that goes from the top of the engine block to the throttle body. It is part of the cold start system that keeps the idle high until the engine is warm. I tried to use regular fuel hose, but no matter how short I cut it, it would kink. I stopped by Mazda today and ordered the part, hopefully it will work better than the fuel hose. Whenever I manage to get Zach's camera back to him I am sure he will post some pirctures. I did not have my camera over the weekend.

damn, that really sucks man. sorry to hear about your bad luck. I would say i know how you feel, but they guy i hit did not run..! I have been to quite a few junkyards in the past couple of weeks. probably the best one i have seen was down in norfolk/va. beach. They just opened a few months ago so not everything has been picked over like most places. I know I saw at least 3 1st gens that were pretty much complete. I don't remember what kind of shape the body panels were in, no major damage comes to mind though. Good luck with everything. I would have filed a police report, even if it was your fault, he could be charged with leaving the scene of an accident....but they may be able to do the same to you, I am not sure.
I don't know when I am going to get the tII exhaust. Things with work are somewhat up in the air right now, I have to wait for that to clear up.

thanks, ill see if i can take a trip down there, but thats a long way. my insurance is $50 a month, and i dont want that to change because thast really good, especailly being 16 with a sports car. the main thing was that he ran, i wasnt even that mad about it at first, i just thought my whole front end was gone. i guess it could of been worse.. but this is bad enough.. i had one on the cleanest first gens around here (not to be cocky, just alot of them are old and show it) thank god im off work for a couple days... im goign to hit some local junkyards..
as for the exhaust.. what are you looking into? are you going to take it to a local shop or get a pre-made system?

that sux 1point1,sorry to hear bout that, hey rob didnt they have a first gen at chesterfield auto parts? Not sure if its still there but it would be worth a try.As for the cars my brother wants the auto,so i think we are going to get one from rotary ressurection, will be the quickest and cheapest way to get it on the road, the 5 speed car is robs (S14onair,X-ricer) on that one we are going to attempt a rebuild and street port.If your looking for a motor, check with circle and chesterfield auto they are the cheapest for motors, but you have to sit in the cold and pull em,what makes it so bad is you cant bring all your tools with you,so you have to work with what you brung and no jacks are allowed in the yard which really sux.For the compression,im not sure i have to hook a guage to it and check but it was 1 regular sounding compression stroke and 1 big compression stroke so i would assume it would only be 1 seal broke,it was also flooded at the time so it was spitting out major fuel on the big comp. stroke.

one point one....i belive you can get those parts from the victoria british catalogue. If you can't find the parts at the junkyard. Their website is www.victoriabritish.com

about the victoria british, be careful when ordering body panels. They have a disclaimer in the back saying to expect dents and minor damage to body panels from shipping upon delivery.

Zach, are you still happy with the paint job on your trim? The body shop has done as much (so they say) with the body panels as they can without the car. They said they 'trimmed them out'. From what I could gather, this means they painted the inside, (and hopefully took the dent out of the one fender). Anyway, to save some dough I am going to go with what you suggested. What is the place called that you used to match your paint?

Robin, my paint was matched at Color Masters across the street from where I work. Its hard to match white and they did a damn good job. You'll probably end up having to buy $100 worth of stuff for the job, so weight that out with what the shop will charge you to do it.
