NH Rotorheads...
Engine Swap
Hey NH 7 owners lol I got a new idea for the 7 and I have pretty much all I need to do it. I am thinking of doing a Nissan SR20DET swap on it. I love rotaries don't get me wrong I just want something a little more reliable and can perform as well along with that. and well the price for a rebuilt complete SR I am getting is hard to beat.
Let me know feed back lol not trying to win approval just wondered what you would all think

BOOOOOOO!! NOOOO
why ever would you do that?
Stick with the rotary, what do you need? what are you goals? whats your budget?
Max's Silvia owner friend (always forget his name) would love you Tim. Rotor heads will always be rotor heads, but if you found something cheaper, easier, and seems more practical to you then do it. You got my support (even though there wont be a 1.3 in there :P)
I need everything for the TII swap and well I am getting a fully rebuilt SR20 with wiring ecu and tranny I got a entire 91 rear subframe out of a 91 S13 coupe and I have a guy to do the fab work for the rear end and front subframe and engine mounts as well with wiring. I am getting all this and labor for a whopping $500 so I can't beat that with a 13bt especially when he has built SR20's over 600+hp and daily drives them. I am all about being unique and well I will save the big 13b or 20b for an FD later on. I like this swap because at least it is not the generic LS swap and it keeps a JDM engine.
and thanks for the support SLEEPER I will post pics on it all when it gets underway.
no worries I will ALWAYS be a rotorhead at heart

rotaman the engine was broken in properly . the egine has 656 miles on the break in i was running it rich during this period than brought it to dyno i was running 18lbs of boots pig rich for a bit. while it was rich started some what ok , as we lean it out we began having issues at start up now running pretty lean also running 25lbs of boost and this bitch wont start up unless u push start it or poor oil down the intake , indicating poor seal . now its to damm cold to pull this bitch out. so ill wait till spring to do so. but like i mentioned ill go with either oem or hurleys. only issue with oem its that they are to brittle and hurleys the life of them its not that long before they start allowing blow by. any how ill decide later on on what to do.
Silvia swap
Make sure you document the swap. I'm looking for ways to improve my FC. It's amazing how many people will trash your idea without any base of knowledge. Have you measured this swap out? The only pictures of a four cylinder into a 7 I have seen is some guy who has put an Honda S2000 engine into his FC. It required a lot of firewall cutting. I'm not sure whether it was the length or height of the engine that required it. Because a V engine has the cylinders on a slant, it's not as tall.
Anyway, good luck, take lots of pictures and keep your receipts. The more information we have on these types of things, the better.

I think someone already did an sr20 fc, also theres the 4g63 fc aswelll
What about a 3SGTE? Everyone knows what an SR20 is, try a Toyota for a change up.
Or a 4AGE Silvertop 20v with ITBs...
Why did I have to get the evil post number for this one?

Well I would but all the guys I work with are 240 guys and have spares up the ying yang so I want to go with that and well the SR is a tryed and true motor puts out serious power and is in a small package and it damn reliable and I checked on this forum and I have not seen a SR swap just lots of talk about one. To make things more fun I am going to stroke it to some thing like 2.2L-2.4L we will see. I will document all work when I get it going and honestly I don't think there will be TOO much cutting on the firewall. I will let you know when we get going. We have to get the 240 that is the garage going then we can move mine in to get the fab work done on it.
the FD is great!!! runs and idles good now. took it out street tuning wednesday night. car pulls strong at 12psi.
dont worry as soon as the weather clears up corey i will be up to look at your FD.
