I think that they did right in calling it an RX-8. Don't get me wrong, love the car, but it's not the same as a RX7. I'm not even comparing performance numbers etc, but rather the spirit of the car. Traditionally, the RX7's are small, no-compromise two seaters. The RX8 was more geared as a 'practical car' with four seats and all the comforts.

My guess is that the new RX7 will be more 'raw' in comparison. It'll be a smaller/lighter 2 seater, that will skip a couple of options.

Tofu: i'm trying to find someone to build me a fiberglass hood with weak spots like the stock hood so it will go crumplezonish in an accident and not zip through the windshield.
