Ok guys answer this. I get home and start right in on step by step on unflooding this car, low and behold after about thirty mins. it fires for about ten seconds and dies. When I turn the key again....NOTHING! All the power inside of the car is fine but nothing from the motor. What the hell did I do? What do I check first?Motor was spinning fine and then nothing. Battery is brand new red top and connections are tight. I'm on my way to Grannysspeedshop.com to solve this problem.Somebody stop me!

Ya know, I hate to go that way cause it's a really nice car, but the auto trans just messed the whole thing up! I might have worked harder if it was a stick, but such is life, now who needs something for their engine!

check the fuses to see if they're blown, also you might have totally killed the starter from cranking it so much

Jason: yer gonna have to reassemble the vert as your chedule never matches mine and you have all the parts and know where they go. i gotta troubleshoot my car this weekend to fix a few problems (replace valve cover gaskets to stop MASSIVE oil leak, figure out why driveshaft is banging around, and figure out why i lose power once engine is warmed up)

I have a set on my GXL right now. I put new khumo tires on them last spring, but a week later someone cut me off and I locked the brakes so two of the tires have worn spots that cause vibrations above 80mph.

They have a few random small dents or gashes from stones in them but overall are in good shape. One of them has some sort of crud that looks like rust stuck to it, I scrubbed most of it off with one of those rough green pads you use to clean dishes (can't remember the name), but got tired so I didn't do between all the spokes. I don't know what it is but it comes off.

Pictures from when I got them (before new tires, etc).

Send me an offer if you're interested. I've got some other random wheels with worn tires I can probably use until I can afford new wheels.

hey akuma, do this when ur car is warmed up, fully warmed up and ur exp power loss. Then one at a time disconnect a sparkplug wire from the dist cap and see if theres any change, when u disconnect one and there is lil to no change then u have a valve thats either burnt or on it's way out. It's the easiest way to test to see if a vavle is goin or gone.

actually the powerloss problem happens when the engine is warmed up. cold engine its running fine. i'm actually leaning towards it being a fuel injector because there is no gas smell. it's literally like someone turned down the power on my car when it happens and it goes rough running. i'm gonna check my injector clips this afternoon when i get home. they are all easy to remove now due to my prepping it for MS so mebe one is backing off the injector and the heat just turns up the resistance in the contacts where its not working anymore.

and i would be insanely pissed if a valve was burnt out considering the engine was JUST rebuilt last year and i didnt start driving it till january of this year. head was fully rebuilt due to some wear issues from the cams and no oil.

its def not headgasket. there is no unburned gas. thats what makes me lean more towards it being a fuel injector problem.

Check the muffler bearing. When worn they can drastically decrease power. Canooter valves have a tendancy to fail, frequently, too. Did you replace them when you rebuilt the motor?
