Sean: I moved the parts that the 'vert needs to the garage. Only other thing it needs is the MS (IT's still at home)

Yeah but doesn't steel bolts + aluminum + coolant = bad chemical reactions?

AL and FE have about the same valence, so they shouldn't cause any reactions regardless of the coolant.

(my son's periodic table was sitting right next to the keyboard )

So uh..yeah..

I bought an FB.

Silver, nice paint, no dents anywhere (except one on the hood and front bumper), no rust (car just came in from Texas ), nice black interior (couple of rips, easily fixed)...cost me all of $200! Woot!

Tranny + driveshaft are sitting in the hatch..if the engine is bad, I'm gonna 13B swap it..:-O

What trim level is it? And what year?

Which paint code of silver? K3 - Sunbeam Silver Metallic, or K8 - Tornado Silver? (Found on passenger side under hood on firewall.)

There's a K3 1984 GSL at Crazy Rays that's ripe for the pickin.
There's also a V3 (Tender blue metallic) 1985 GS with charcoal interior there.

Both are missing alternators. They had the fanless type.

i spent 5 hours yesterday working on my car. found the faulty parts on my driveshaft so i know what to order now, took out the rest of my AC system in my engine bay (still need to get the parts in the blower). and replaced my valve cover gaskets.

i think my next day of working on it will be to ATTACK GAS STATION........i mean the heater core and blower. need to patch the leak and get the blower working before it REALLY gets cold. luckily my car is very good at warming up in the sun. can be 20F outside and my car will be in the 60's

sleve yoke is loose in the tranny and the center bearing has the littleist of play leaving the front half of the drive shaft free to bounce around.

BTW, toyota refers to it as the Propeller shaft. *Boats aorund*

Oh yeah. my car was running like *** because a couple of the wires were plugged into the wrong spots on the distributor cap. dunno how the last mechanic screwed up the size order of the wires. shortest to cyl1 and longest to cyl6. he had them all over the place. i fixed it so its not crapping out on me anymore. still need to clean the spark plug valey to get all the oil out of it. thats theoretically causing my weird idling problems in addition to the plug wires being crappy.

SWEET. found a place that sells a COP kit for my supra that uses stock setup and just replaces the coilpacks.

Anyone know anything about phones?

My work phone works fine, but when I brought my Western Electric series 500 from home (it works fine at home) I can barely hear anything on it, very low volume. It rings fine, and other people can hear me, it dials out fine, but I just can't hear.

The line is fine, cuz when I use the other phone it works perfectly.

Ideas?

PBX might not be outputting enough voltage to handle a house phone. there are 2 voltages that POTS type phones can run at.

1. I have unpaid speeding fines in VA.
2. My car isn't running (needs gaskets).
3. The local mazda dealership will have them here tomorrow for 14 bucks.
