Maryland guys!
ken, could you give me a quick rundown on the connections for the lm1815 please. I'll be putting it together this afternoon. Oh, and I think I've figured out a solution for the extra db-9... use a 7-pin s-video cable instead.

it'll have to wait till I get home tonight... I don't have time to look at it before that....
That's the stuff I drilled a couple of small holes in the MS board for.... remember?
If you still don't, take a look at my .txt file at http://www.speakeasy.org/~culverk/wh...oder-howto.txt
I need to go back and edit this thing eventually... but it should be OK until then.

yah >_> I remember that there were the 2 signal wires and 2 grounds from the cas (vr1,gnd1,vr2,gnd2) and that output1 goes to pin6 on the 6-pin chip, but I don't remember from there.
*dloads file* If I need any more hints I'll talk to you when you get home.
oh, and I'm going to use an 8-pin appletalk cable for the connections.

If the metal is thin then yes, you need to tig weld it, mainly just to get the really fine control of the current to keep from burning through the metal.

i mean i may be way off base...but arent oil coolers finned radiators basically
i mean thats thin to me
i've never MIG welded aluminum so i can say ... but very few people would have a MIG that can do Al welds and make them look nice...
you need an adjustable waveform and reverse polarity if im not mistaken
better safe than sorry, most good shops have a TIG anyways
try RPM Fabrication LLC in Glen Burnie, ask for Harry, tell him Corey, the guy with the v8 rx7 sent ya
¡Hola!
I´m in the Dominican Republic, we came into town (a crazy drive down the mountain, for supplies), so I paid for some internet time. These spanish keybords are crazy. The poverty here is aweful, I´m serving in a town called Polo, right neer the border of Hati, high in the mountains.
There is a whole lot of hard labor to be done here too to help administer aid and such to the people living here. Biulding this house is kinda hard too, because we dont have powertools or anything like that. Lots of digging by hand and such. Money is really tight too. everything here is really expensive. (Exept labor)
One of the trucks we are using is awesome, it´s called a Toyota Dyna. It rules.
I´ll tell everyone the full story later, at Fudds or something, I just thought it would be cool to post and let everyone know that I am still alive.

I don't remember what DCRP is used for really, I never used it for anything in class... I'll have to look it up in my textbook

for MIG all you need is the proper voltage, proper wire-feed speed, and proper wire-feed system; the spool-gun type works well...
I was just trying to tell people that it's NOT impossible to MIG aluminum, nor is it hard to make it look good.... as long as the metal is thick... a lot of people say that you can't MIG aluminum at all, and that just isn't true. You CAN MIG aluminum, and you CAN make it look good... there might even be people who can do it on thin metal, but I'm not one of them

I have a court date on thursday
(63 in a 45)
and I think my lisence is actually suspended at the moment
(I forgot to pay a dumb ticket I got for not having my front lisence plate)
EDIT: I haven't been accused of a speeding ticket in over 2 years though... so I should be good... maybe
