Ugh. Sorry I missed the last garage meet. I was sick. But at least I got offa work.

Did y'all end up getting much done?

Perhaps a weekend garage day is in order. That way, work won't have to be taken offa.

Should just buy John's house, or at least a corner of his property and plop a garage down on it.

okay....a couple people have asked for directions so i will give a couple.

first click here for mapquest directions there. the end point is already set

second are directions from the garage as a lot of people can figure from there also.
  • take 108 east towards Olney
  • drive past olney untill you reach Rt32
  • take 32 east (ramp between the exxon and the overpass)
  • drive that for about 7-10 ish miles out to 295 Balt-Was Pkwy NORTH (be careful you dont overshoot the exit by 50 feet and take the exit for Canine Rd as thats the wrong way and you may get pulled over by NSA security...not really cuz theres a shell gasstation there )
  • take 295N for about 3 or so miles till Arundel Mills Blvd. the road only goes one way so you dont have to wory about going the wrong direction. it will go thru some neighborhood for a while.
  • when you come out of the treeline the mall will be on your front left. aim for the castle looking structure...preferably parking on the left or right side of it as that where the entrances to the mall are.
once again trying to have people meet up around 8ish to get tickets and get grouped together. ticket prices are $47 per person (didnt get enough for group discount...sorry)

john actually wanted to build a storage type garage over in the back corner where the boneyard is to hold the cars within his HOA guidelines. if you want to front the money to have that built for him he would gladly let you use it as a garage to work on cars. this was something we talked to him about last year. currently his money is tied into his lake house.

13Beast REW: the ignitor setup for FD's is totally different from FC... I just looked it up... I don't know if it's only physically different or if the signals expected by the module are different as well... I'll have the research it for you.

This matters because I'll have to see what inputs the ignitor expects and see if the megasquirt can control those....

All the rotary ignition talk has been for 2nd gen rx7's.

ok, someone's gotta stop me.

i went looking at the Saab 9-2x online. yknow, the one that's a WRX in Saab clothing?

yeah. well. the saab is spensive...for normal consumers...but i'm a GM employee, so i'd get a discount - it would end up around $17k for me.

i need someone(specifically a Saab employee) to tell me i can't afford it...heh...i'm going to the Saab dealer up the road to take a look at it, and talk to someone there...

GAH i'm gonna end up living in my car if i do that...but it's so much better than the corolla...

13Beast REW: Alright, the FD ignition should still work for leading, trailing is different from the 2nd gen... on the 2nd gen there are 2 inputs into the ignitor from the ecu... an IGt and a coil select line... the IGt tells the ignitor the advance/dwell, and the coil-select tells it which coil to fire...

On the FD, there's an IGt for leading (just like on the 2nd gen) and then there's an IGt for each of the trailing coils... so just 3 IGt advance signals... This shouldn't be too hard to add to the code once the bugs are worked out of the 2nd gen trailing stuff...

You cant afford it

I havent met a newer SAAB that lasted more then 25K before having catastrophic failures.

It's not a SAAB, it's a subaru

Falnfenix: But you still can't afford it b/c it needs 93 octane, gets crappy mileage, and insurance sucks on it.

Then I guess its a modern thing. I've never seen that particular SAAB :/

IMO, Subarus are expensive to maintain because of the price of parts.

But since you have the hookup :O

But you should be saving up for the GN motor/tranny :P

Ok, after looking over the wiring diagrams for both the FC and FD I still can't figure out how spark is channeled through the leading coil. Based on the fact that there are only to leads into the leading coil but two outputs, the only thing that makes sense to me is that both the front and rear leading plugs always fire at the same time but that doesn't make sense to me. I must be missing something.

What? Theres only one leading coil with two cores, that fire at the same time.

Yes, front and rear leading fire at the same time
