Welp I just got my t2 back from kevin, and that bitch runs ******* SWEEEEEET boost = instant. I Love it... it is most definatly the car I've always wanted. ( and yes, more so then an FD).

 

I need to get my T2 working

 

I just got back from Ohio. Went up there without knowing the condition or what I was getting. Turns out to be a GTU with NOTHING, and dosn't runn. Got it running. and took my baby for her first 450 miles from ohio to maryland!
I got my werk cut out for me fixing her up. I'll post pics tomorrow. 16 hours of striaght driving.

Oh and the best part. its 40 degrees outside and I HAVE to have my manual windows down because there is an exhuast leak that leaks INTO the chasis. SO I"m kinda high on fumes and smell like carbon monoxide.

I changed out my O2 sensor yesterday - had to buy a special slotted socket for it. SO it anybody needs to change the O2 sensor and doesn't want to part with about $12 for the tool, just ask !

ALSO: want to change my manual transmission lube. Best recommendations I could find was for Redline MT90. A quick hunt on the internet showed up a mail-order place on E Joppa Rd (about 15 minutes from me) www.synlubes.com - Al Smith Automotive Products (ASAP). Great guys and very well stocked and very knowledgable. Highly recommended. I'll let you know how the lube-swap works later today! My 3rd gear sync is really bad and the transmission 'whirrs' even in neutral. I'm doing this to try to extend its life a bit...

Well, the gear lube change was a pain, but worth it! Trans is MUCH quieter and syncs into 3rd almost silently. Biggest hassle was figuring out just HOW to get a half gallon of gear lube into the trans without the right tools The wife had bought a 4-pack of generic squirt bottles. I reamed one out and used it as a manual pump - filled the bottle with MT90 and squirted it in. Worked great except for the cramp in my arm

SO this weekend was: New plugs and plug wires, new O2 sensor, new belts and a lube change in my tranny - plus a medieval feast, church this morning and band rehersal tonight.

I need to go to work tomorrow to rest up from my weekend.

Sorry I don't have the pictures yet, but I got it for $free.00 and I"m so happy, its in horrible condition so I spent all today doing what I could to make it look good and start of its own power again.
Both objectives happened and the car is looking good. I'm taking it to the wash tomorrow and then waxing some life back into the paint.
