I know joey will be running some sort of big tire in the rear, dunno what I'd do, cause I plan on keeping the car as stock as possible right now with the whole home buying issue on the very close horizon.

Whoa! I'm being volunteered! lol. Right now, I am too busy keeping an eye on whats happening on Joey's car. As soon as it's finished, I'll be busy trying to brain wash him into going to the track...

I won't be running that large of a tire. I'm building a daily driver, remember? I'm at least going to have 17's, and maybe even the 19's I've been looking at. I'll be lucky to get any 60ft's less than a 2.0 with what I'll be running. Now, if you want to time laps around Summit Point, I'm game for that. Sung will beat me, due to track experience and car setup. I will probably pull him into the straight but he's got a lot more in his suspension that me - I'm trying to buy his used stuff from him now! I'd beat him around Daytona, but I doubt I could take him on a small track with tight turns. On the street, well, I'm confident my car will do pretty well

As far as cost, the only thing I haven't bought so far is the fuel system, as far as conversion stuff. I'm in it for about 12k so far. Only about 7k was conversion cost, the rest was the shell and the missing parts/tools. Yes, it's a lot more expensive than an FC due to the higher cost of the shell and replacing missing parts. But estimating 2500 for wheels/tires and 3k for paint, it's going to be about 18-19k. Still a lot more than most have in their FC's, yes, but not $25k.

There's a whole section devoted to the reasons I'd rather do this than rebuild a rotary, we don't need to go into that. I'd love to have the knowledge and faith in the rotary that all you guys do. But I don't and I still like RX7's, so this is the route I'm taking. Judging by the nuber of PM's I get asking questions about it, I'd say I'm not alone in my thoughts

If I knew anything about turbos, I'd go with a Buick V6 in a hearbeat for an FC. I just know a couple people who have had problems tuning them in Buicks, so I know I wouldn't be any better at it in a Mazda.

If you havn't seen it before (you might have) check out www.misred.com for a nice example. I haven't scanned it recently, but the last update lists a 10.79 @ 126. Not bad.

Hyperfest is the most fun you can shake a rotor at, it's held at Summit Point ever summer (June I think) You can either go friday (meh) Saturday (yahoo) or Sunday (eh) I'm hoping to camp the sucker out atleast Friday night, and watch the events Saturday. I'm assuming Joey has dropped off the face of the earth so ANYONE WITH A VW BUS IS MORE THEN WELCOMED TO COME!!!! Frankly if I have the mazda3 I'm going to chill in that, we'll see.

For the record, I think I hate VA more then all ya'll combined, I bitch about that state daily, just ask mike (eage8)

(meh, yahoo, and eh are offical guildlines to the excitement level you can expect from a give activity. Meh = worth going, but not pressed to see. Yahoo = in your face, ku foo action. and eh = if you have nothing better to do it passes time nicely. For more information on offical excitement levels please contact your system administrator) <~~~ 4am in the morning and I have nothing else to do.... really, nothing. Ok I'm going to stop talking now......

Unhappy I'm so screwed...

OK, I've got a 88 N/A Vert that won't start.
That's what I get for working on cars
2 major screw-ups:
1) I forgot to tighten the fan back up with I was done changing the belts. Lost 3 of the 4 bolts. This meant that when I tried to start it on Monday, all that noise of the fan banging around scared me good and I turned the car off after about 10 seconds.
2) I changed the spark plugs. OK, except the old ones in the rear rotor were in backwards (leading plug was on top). I didn't realize that at the time, so I put the new front plugs in like the old back ones (WRONG) and the put the new back ones in the same way (also WRONG).
I fixed the fan (new bolts) and figured out that the plugs were wrong (and fixed that), but now the car won't turn over.

Can I bribe anybody with dinner and gas money to come up to Lutherville and help?

I'm sticking to computers.

I'm in Arnold...aka, annapolis...I'll help. You might have to wait a week or so.
I have two 13b rebuilds to finish and ship. Then I want to get mine werking.
--------------
My dad is bitching about the number of cars I own...so on that note I have:

1996 Honda Del sol
43-46 avg. mpg
5spd.
200hp
only 73000 on the motor
123k on chasis....nothing for hondas
intake/magna flow (not too loud) exhaust
agressor front bumper
set of konig special edition rims + stocks
head unit (clarion I think...maybe kenwood)
aftermarket tail lights +stocks
Asking price is $5500...will neg/trade for certain cars.

The other is a 1988 Audi 90
5cyl. have the turbo parts.
not running
Has black leather interior and heated seats.
230000 on chasis, motor is in the middle of a rebuild. (put back together.)
I think there is soemthing wrong with the fuel getting to the engine and that the reason it dosnt' run.
asking $1000

Please tell your friends, parents, co-werkers...the persons your having an afair with ANYBODY. I need these sold.

PELASE HELP GUYS!!!

Description of my 1986 GXL:

Gold, 5 speed, and in near mint condition. 112K on the chassis. Interior is totally mint, even the rear seats are leather. Brand new MAZDA engine. Not a single electrical or mechanical flaw. New AutoAdjustingSuspension shocks. Fully loaded with every option. All reciepts kept. Even stuff that normally breaks on S4 RX-7s (Vents, S4 surround, power antenna, radio, shift boot, wiper/rearwiper switch, sunroof) is totally mint in this car. Comes with a 1 month/3,000 mile warentee and it just passed Emissions and MD state inspection (LIGITAMATELY, with FLYING COLORS). BONE STOCK exept for removal of the PulsationDampner.

Problems: There is a huge dent in the passenger side fender, but I have a replacement fender for it. (I'll take care of the work if I ever sell the car). There is also a hole in the driver side rear fender that needs patchwork (I'll do that too).

The oil/oil filter has been changed every 3K (sometimes sooner) and the coolant has been flushed and the radiator cap and Mazda thermostat are both new. It has a brand new clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. The tires on it are fine and have lots of life in them. The spare tire has never seen the light of day. Brand new shift bushings (tranny shifts GREAT) The clutch-type LSD works fine. The Aux ports work GREAT and have my special goo on them so they wont be locking any time soon. The sunroof opens smoothly and nicely.

I daily drive this car so I'm not in a big hurry to sell it or trade it. This car takes me on long trips (2 1/2 hours or more) reliably and without a hitch.

For a list of options that came on the GXL, check out https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/specifications-what-did-2nd-generation-rx-7-come-w-options-standard-features-249616/

thats yer sense of direction rather than VA. VA just gets you slammed into traffic everywhere. does nothing to confuse you more than anyother state.
