Renegade - pressure sensor should be N318 for 87-88 and N370 for 89-91.

Your best bet is to visit www.haltech.com and get the manual and read through it for the type of ECU you want.

You're going to either want the E6K (discontinued, so you'll have to buy it used), E6X or the E8. I got the E8 for $1450 shipped from a guy named Claudio RX7 on these forums. Best bet to find him is in the Haltech section in the Engine Management forums. There's alot of info there, so read up.

Anyways, if you go with the X or the 8, expect to spend anywhere from 1200-1500 for the ECU, harness, and sensors.

Oh yea, everyone I just bought a Haltech E8 for the turbo project. I'll take pics when it gets here.
thanks lovintha7

i read up on the e8 setup and it too meets my needs of the setup i have. the price range for that thing though will be hard to reach ...... so it might be a while to get that thing.but is a good way to go. ive done some pros and cons and this haltech setup will better serve me now, and the later future! so it will basicly pay for itself in the long run. cause i have more plans for my 7 in the later years. maybe more horse power who knows. but for a stock setup with mostly a lot of things im still missing to get this thing to run right and cant find any of it in a junk yard or off ebay, forums and what not. save face and headache im just going to make a smart choice and get this haltech!!
one question comes to mind though if i do a whole new setup what or how will the other electrical systems be controlled ? like as in lights head lights , instramental guages,???i will post this in the haltech section of the forums as well.

there is a test but I believe you have to use a voltmeter and a vaccum gauge I believe. I am at work and don't have my shop manual.

Turbo2SE,

As far as the other electrical devices are concerned, they are on a completely different wiring system, and you will only remove the electrical components that are engine related. Your gauges will work the same as before just as long as you keep them hooked up.

In my case, I'll be running all Autometer gauges, and all the gauges that can be will be mechanical.

You are also going to want to look into the Innovative LM-1 wideband unit as well. I just purchased one off ebay for $240. There is one on there now with a Buy It Now for $250, which is quite good considering it's a $350 unit.

hay man im really interested in getting this E8 system for my turbo 2!!From what i have read is that the E6 is discontinued however, it can still do the job but i might be not be able to get the sensors for it since its a older unit.... and the E8 is NEWER and i still be able to get the sensor..

But i cant seem to find a vender locally in virginia....... you know of one? closest vender is out in.....North Carolina

ADDED: BTW where did you get yours again? i found the E6 and E8 on ebay for a decent price but im not to sure if i should go the ebay rought again??.....or if i should buy from another place?

Monty I got you e-mail but it got deleted. I run a microtech Lt8 It seems to be a few hundred cheaper than the haltech. I think more people are familiar with the haltech. I'm about 1 hour from greensboro let me know if I can help

hay johhny good to hear from you . when i get this haltech you know of a good tuner for that system? can the guy you took yours to tune a haltech?? besides the complete kit i might have to get other things like the wideband O2 sensor and a boost presure sensor..you guys think i can use the non turbo AFM? or i got to find a turbo 2 one?? im still trying to visualize how this kit is going to go into the stock coil packs if that an be done. or if i have to buy MSD's ignition coil packs.

Yes, but the Haltech still controls them via input from the CAS.

When it comes to the Haltech, you'll be eliminating the AFM, as you will be using a MAP sensor, which also serves as the boost pressure sensor, as well as vacuum.

And yes, you can use the stock coils, which is actually the preferred up to 400 hp.

Dammit!!! When are we thinkin' of doin' it? I'd like to get a new IC and a wideband before I get the car tuned..... And that ain't cheap..... We'll also need a shop with a dyno to "sponsor" us. I'm thinkin' the $350 is Steve's fee, before the dyno fee's, but I could be wrong.

Funny, twenty minutes ago I was looking at his schedule, dreamin'......

If my car would only be ready in time.

Just picked this up though:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

And I will be getting the Haltech tomorrow hopefully.

All I need is that damn front cover gasket and the motor is ready to go in.
