Clutch fluid IS brake fluid. Just pick up some DOT 3 brake fluid and pour it in there until it reaches the full mark and see if that helps. You may have a blown slave cylinder though. If that's the case, replace the master, the slave and the line between the two. It's a total of 2 bolts and 2 nuts and that one line.

To check the slave, just pull the boot off the body of the cylinder. If brake fluid comes out, it's blown. If not, check behind the carpet where the clutch pedal is. If the fluid is there, then it's the master cylinder.

Uh, I wouldn't. Dot 5 is good for show cars and cars that spend a lot of time sitting and no time on a race track. I'd suggest not using it. The current over the counter synthetics (live valvoline, etc) are the best you are going to find readily available. You can get better stuff, but it is going to cost a bunch of money. We are talking clutch here. Anything will do fine in this circumstances.

correct.

This is one of the articles that explains why:

http://www.xs11.com/tips/maintenance/maint1.shtml

and

http://www.raceshopper.com/brake_fluid.shtml

Bottom line, if you are going to use Dot 5..... Know exactly what you are doing. It is very tricky stuff to do right, and it still doesn't work for racecars.

There is a 1st and second gen in the pick and pull in VA Beach. From my diagnosis, the first gen must have overheated and it's locked up. Symptons are: New radiator, waterpump, thermostat. I took the carb off of it and put it in my 79 but I think my factory bottom plate is interfering because it idling way too high. Like 3000 rpm. Plus I can barely move the throttle cable. But the carb appears to be good.

The second gen has 101,000 miles and it's an automatic, has a back seat. 4 lug car. I didn't get a chance to play with it but I have been told the engine is not locked.

Boricua - Come stai?

Io sono esvegliato molto presto questa mattina. Adesso, vado a giocare con le maccine. Trovato un carburatore ieri. Vediamo si funciona bene.

I took the Pick and Pull carb off my second 79 and installed it in my RX-3 wagon. At first, it was idling high and rich no matter what adjustments I made. I kept whomping on it, playing with adjustments and all of a sudden it started running smooth. Maybe it was clogged?

I took it down my little dragstrip ( my 1/16 of a mile street where I reside???) Then it started working like a champ. Fair to say that the Pick and Pull carb turned out to be a great carb for $25.19 and $4.99 core (10% military discount). Let's see in a few hours once it cools down when I have to go to work tonight.......

I have a couple of extra first gen carbs in various states of anyone else is interested. I am sure that all of them would be fine with a carb kit. I robbed the accelerator pump out of one for my daughters car, but otherwise that one was running fine.

If someone wants one as a spare, let me know.

i have a question

my tach still doesnt work

but it works intermittenly i.e. when i turn on a blinker it flicks up once or when i turn on a light

and just randomly i can see it work and i can also hear and feel a difference in the engine (the trailing coil kicking on)

to this i ask

anyone have any freakin ideas to why it does this

Well it's white, it's in good shape, it could probably be polished up to look nicer. One thing I'm NOT sure of if the white is orginal color, as the car has been repainted. Could be a no go for you.
