Theres discussion of other roads that are actually better but it wont be the "Dragon".
So you cant go back and tell your freinds I did the "Moonshine RUn" or the "Cherohala skyway, Hellbender, or Devils Triangle" cuz they wont know what those roads are.

In all honesty, the Dragon isn't that amazing of a road in my opinion. You're stuck in 2nd gear literally the entire way...more of an auto-x course, no straights.

With that, everyone should still come down b/c other than the Dragon there are a lot of wide open straightaways and other twisty roads that are just as much fun.

No one that I know of is backing out due to this. Also, it's not all about the road itself, DGRR is truly about the people you meet and relationships you make. The most fun I had was when I was hanging out/putting faces to forum names.

This is a special event b/c of everyone that are going...the road will always be there to run, but the people won't.

I couldn't agree more. On the flip side the AE86 is not starting currently, im sure its due to this wet weather we're having. Im assuming somethings wet and not letting it turn over. Im gonna go back outside in a half and try again.. wish me luck!!!

Since its not looking good for the Dragon... me and my boy's from the 8Club are going to do this road as the back up plan..

or

"With the temporary closing of the Dragon Moonshiner28 is a great alternative. There are sections of 28 in North Carolina every bit as twisty as the Tail. Bonus .... speed limit is 55 most of the route." Quote From website
