No, there's no way we'll make it by dinner time. Our goal is to just make it there Thursday night period haha. Last year I believe we made it there around 11 ish at night. Remember from NJ it is roughly 700+ miles to Deals Gap.

If we do 100+ mph we can get there by dinner. I believe in us...

Well the FD is coming along nicely and I really want to take it down. If anyone is leaving Thursday night or Friday morning let me know. Maybe I can figure a way to still make the caravan.

There is another group of people going down Thursday night. Might actually even be 2 groups.

Some info for the upcoming caravan:

Address to use for google maps: 9400 W Hwy 19, Bryson City, NC 28713. We'll be going by way of US-81S. Total trip is 730 miles, approx 12 hours on the road.

Also some other things to keep in mind:

**If you have a two-way radio, tune into channel 7. Towards the latter part of the trip cell phone service is very spotty. If you have a GPS, it's a great idea to bring it.

**Please don't drive like a jackass. This means weaving in and out of traffic, passing on the shoulder, and generally driving in a dangerous manner.

**If you get pulled over, we're going to continue going. You'll catch back up.

**We're planning to stop for gas about every 350 miles or so. Feel free to stop on your own for fuel and catch up with us when you're done.

**If you want to make some highway pulls against a buddy, that's fine..... please use your judgement and make sure it's safe to do so.

**If you have mechanical issues and break down, please have your AAA card available. We'll do our best to help out, but don't get bent out of shape if we continue on.

**NO TAILGATING. Most of us will have radar detectors, and if they light up be prepared to stop suddenly. This means you need space and distance in between caravan members. For those (ex-) military people..... basically, obey the convoy intervals

Thats the reason why Ghetto rigged my cruse control buttons to my 2002 nardi wheel. LOL. Is there anybody going on this caravan who does not have cruse control?

screw that noise.... it's too heavy. I 'm sure a lot of people do not have cruise control man, it's a pretty common thing to delete.

I don't have it. Cruise control is for the weak......

Back in my Army days I drove back and forth between NJ and TX 6 times over 4 years. Usually I made the 1400 mile trip in two days.

Official Meeting Spot: Thursday April 15th meeting @ 8:30am at 192 Madison Ave in Morristown, NJ 07960 (Friendly's restaurant) with myself and Rich.

Please try and have your cars all gased up and ready to go. Where we are meeting there is a Shell, Lukeoil, and Exxon, so if you have to top your tank off you can do so.

Please try to be there on time. We will be leaving at 9am sharp

**Also it would probably be a good idea to print out directions even if you have a GPS, just in case it fails**

See you guys this Thursday!!
