I'll meet up in Morristown. But idk if I'll be able to make it 300-400 miles, I'm getting tuned on the way back in Maryland at PFS, but as-is, I might be running too rich to make it that far without stopping...

 

How big is your rx-7 gas tank? I don't think i've ever gotten to 300 miles on a tank

 

Same thing I was thinking, I'd have to really be babying the car and driving with a priest in the passenger seat to make it 300 miles on one tank.

 

you guys serious? before i did the tear down on my car i used to get well over 300 miles on one tank

2rotors..remember that meet we did in CT? i went there and back on one tank and still had 1/3 left

and i was running 1 bar and you can ask anyone, i used to beat the **** out of that car

 

With the FD fuel tank at 20 gallons and an estimated 15-20mpg while cruising in 5th (or 5mpg with a 4th gear pull )=300-400 mile range. If we have to stop sooner than we will (Sunocos & Shells pref.)

you guys know what route you are taking? I'm thinking about going and if I do would like to join in. I live in Morgantown WV (I68), but might be able to meet you somwhere like Wytheville, VA if youre taking I81 down.

Still not completely sure if I'm going. Im in England right now and wont be back for 2 more weeks, and depending how much snow is still on the ground I may not get enough shakedown miles on the car to be comfortable with a long trip.

EDIT, actually **** it, if im not happy with the 7 I'll ride down on the bike. Buying my tickets tomorrow. Let me know where I should join in the caravan.

 

Count me out, i just got told im getting laid off on friday.

Unless by some act of god i come into some money im not gonna be able to make it.

This caravans starting to look weak. Hopefully people will start joining in closer to the date.

 

I disagree..... in some ways, the less number of cars the better.

I've done this trip before, and in order for us all to make it down to the lodge in Bryson City NC on thursday, we're going to be on the road a loooong time. If anyone breaks down or wants to hang out at a rest stop, we'll end up rolling into Deal's Gap at sometime after midnight, which would suck.

Anyone going on the caravan---- make sure your car has had recent maintenance conducted, and shake down miles have been performed after making any changes to the car. Thanks

LOL, ummm my car is booked so is goodfella and bridgeport, not sure about everyone else. I'm sure there will be an opening.

 

If I get my car up and running I can give someone a ride down, but probably not a ride back.

On the other hand if I don't get it running I may need a ride myself as I really don't want to take the bus :<
