I know this is a bit early, but for anyone interested here is how it's going to happen:

Leave from Morristown NJ early the morning of Thursday April 15th at 8am.
Make the trip down in one day, arrive late that night.
Will stop in Wilmington DE to pick up Mr. Scrub.
Will also coordinate to meet people as we head south to the NC/TN border.

The event runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 16-18) so by rolling in late thursday night we won't miss out on anything and should get a few extra runs of the Dragon in

So who is in for the caravan? Theorie/Bagelman, amp/Jio, DJF(NJ), Marc/2-rotor, Dennis, Manny, etc......

After registering, you'll get information to call up Nanatahala Village to reserve a room, right now there is a buy 2 nights/get 2 night free special as well as 15% off the normal price if you register by January 15th. For thurs/fri/sat, it was $300 for a nice room with two queen sized beds. Half deposit payable upon reservation and the other half paypable upon arrival.

For those on the fence, I can almost guarantee you'll be able to sell your room to get your money back if it ends up being that you can't make it. every year the lodge is completely packed with rotary nuts, so book your room now

 

i'll be registering tonight and will be going this year. i refuse to miss another DGRR. I'm down for the caravan as well as long as you're welcoming drag race guys...

 

I am down. are you all going in your FDs? If so what happens if anyone brakes down??? I am a bit paranoid about that so if anyone has a trailer I am willing to have someone drive my truck down there with a trailer hooked on it just in case...

 

No worries on breaking down..... ^ i drove my FD theres last year.... even if i broke down it would still have been worth it.... The roads/people/cars were amazing...

Since last year ive been doing mods just for this trip.

This will be my third year going and I have never heard of anyone breaking down going to DGRR. A well taken care of/put together FD that is in proper running order is just as reliable as any other car on the road.

It's up to the owner to decide if the car is road worthy or not, esp for a 700 mile trip.

I am down, Rich where in Morristown would you like the NJ/NY people to meet? I was thinking the Friendly's parking lot on Madison Ave could work since it's right next to 3 gas stations and 287.

I think you're mistaken.....this event isn't at a drag strip, there are turns............ lots of turns. An added danger, some turns go right and not just left!

I was planing to go with fiz-e but all 3 of us can chip in and get one of them rooms and then we can flip a coin for who takes the floor. unless we all get drunk,then that might get a little interesting.
