Countless stories for sure. For some reason I always get WS-6's and Z28 Camaro's wanting to race. Closest race I had was Ws-6 with full exhaust, (maybe cams cant remember), intake. We raced from 10-75mph and I only got him by half a car length. He was so shocked at the next light asking "what turbo is in there" and even more shocked when I said it was n/a. That was when it was sitting at 190rwhp though. I also get into a races with stock EVO's, stock Rx-8's (his face was priceless too after I pulled over 5 car lengths), S2000's, and Sti's with full exhausts. Since its had 230wheel I have not had any good races. A red GTO with a plate "sik goat" always pipes the shop when he goes by and drives fast everywhere. He has at least a full exhaust and intake, maybe a re-flash. I have been wanting to run into him FOREVER, figured it would be a good matchup. Finally when Peter was picking up some parts borrowing my car, he ran into "the goat" on broad st. Didnt even try to race the Rx7. Later Peter ran into him AGAIN a week after, and he still wouldnt race. Peter really tried, but I guess the 1st gen's idle at the light scared him off. That is about the only scary thing about my FB really lol, it looks harmless as can be. Its VERY FAR from the fastest car on the road obviously, but its faster than everything that would be willing to race it. And that is the best car to have as a daily driver

Great stories. I have ton's of those with my rx2 also. Most people have never seen an rx2 or rx3 so when they see this little POS go flying by them they just sit there with their mouths open. I really like making the Vettes', porsche's, and the high end cars look dumb.

I am trying to apply this conceptually to an S4 or S5. I don't know what length your runners were before you shortened them two inches. What length did you end up with for the intake?

Racing Beats recomendation for street port exhaust was 22-25 inches for a short system. That seemed a little long is you use that intake/exhaust length formula. But using RB# if you collect on the next pulse out that would put you in the 44-50 inch range or your #. How close are you getting the two pipe lengths to each other?

Sounds like you did a bunch of dyno runs to come up with the 50 inch length. How sensative is the motor to exhaust length? If you can remember does the motor drop 2hp or 20 hp if you go a little to long or short.

Any idea what the header will cost and when production will start?

I measured the completed intake length when I was done modifying it, but would have to look at my notes. The header pipe lengths are within 1/2" of each other. Sensitivity of the exhaust depends on the exhaust primary length. If your running 120" tubes, then 1" is going to be very a very small change. On my length tubes 1" results in about a 5-8hp change plus or minus. The header should be about $550-650

I really dont know. It keeps raining, and on the nice days there is not any time for anything but building cars. I will say 3 months, and try to surprise everyone lol.

Any chance this header will be made to fit a 12A as well?

You can use 13B headers on a 12A and vice-versa, just need to do some minor ovalling and porting.

My N/A 13BT has a 12A header on it.

I remember the 13b-re manifold was not near matching the block on the bottom of the runners. So I matched the gasket on the bottom there. The rest I really didnt bother.

Those are some awesome numbers. Good job. I'm planning on building a similar engine only with ITBs. Hopefully I'll see numbers like that.

But the RE did produce MORE torque from 6,000 up. So the FD intake lost 20rwhp. And this was back when I was at 216 rwhp. Now the loss would be even greater. Simply put the FD intake is designed nice and long, for a very early peak torque.
Nice job on the numbers! I have a couple of questions...Are the 13B-REW and 13B-RE intake manifolds interchangeable? Are the fuels rails interchangeable?

Thanks

Yeah you can put RE intakes on the FD engine, but the engine must be port matched. Fuel rails have to be for RE if using RE intake.

I may have some floating around, have to check and see
