Looking at the dyno, I can't help but wonder if the REW intakes would be better suited for NA tuning. I know the RE flows better and produces less torque on a turbo motor where design and shape aren't as important as flow with the turbo providing most of the velocity.
Looking at the way torque drops off in the midrange, I wonder if the REW intakes and exhaust tuning could manage to make the same power with more torque overall.
Either way, awesome build and superb documentation!!

The velocity comes from the port. Intake design is ALWAYS important, you can just cover up your sins with more boost on a turbo engine. N/A keeps you on your toes.

Torque is not dropping off in the midrange, its just going back to a non-resonance point in the power band. My header creates a great 3.5-4k bump in power, and again at 7-8k. On the FD intake.... been down that road a while ago. I switched intake manifolds to FD upper and lower, to see the results. The FD intake did not make ANY more torque anywhere than the RE intake. But the RE did produce MORE torque from 6,000 up. So the FD intake lost 20rwhp. And this was back when I was at 216 rwhp. Now the loss would be even greater. Simply put the FD intake is designed nice and long, for a very early peak torque.

You are right, and I have definitely thought of that. Some friends speculated as well. Since its 4" now, it would be easy to throw a turbonetics bell mouth inlet on it. If I get a chance this will be on the list of the next dyno session. Along with the production header test.

The only problem I see with extrude honing is that it might smooth out the runners too much. The cast surface provides turbulent airflow that helps keep fuel from wetting the manifold walls. Its not a problem in efi piston engine intakes since the injectors more or less spray into the head. Carbs would be a different story.
Also, last I checked, extrude honing is pretty darn expensive. The place I looked at had rotary intakes list somewhere between $300 and $600. With prices like that I'd give flex honing some serious thought.

Haha you guys are cracking me up. I want to post a video so badly, just so busy at the shop I cant seem to catch a break. I will take some photos of the whole car, so everyone can get a idea of how awesome the outside is.....or lack thereof haha. Makes for a semi-good sleeper though

Pics of the 1st gen!
I snapped a few shots of the car finally. THese pics are shown being as-is driven condition, which it is never washed, and beat on all the time. Definitely one of my all time favorite cars though. And Max, aka NOPR thought of the "test mule" plate. It was a great fit for sure.
